You should have seen it 20 years ago when it was being reconstructed. Today, you're looking at the new and improved CBX. Traveling through NYC during that time forced me to use 287 if coming from well into NJ, or doing the whole GW to HH Parkway bypass because it royally sucked trying to get through all that construction.

Depending on your overal aesthetic you could try a fedora (a real fedora, not a tribute) or maybe a pork pie hat. It’s hard to explain, but usually a more grisly bearded older gentleman in one of those brimmed hats nobody will bat an eye.

If you look anything at all like a m’lady type of person, avoid. I’m sure you’ve seen the memes.

I wouldn’t really call any of the places listen above diverse at all. But they do fit your criteria otherwise and are very nice towns. If you want more diversity, you would just have to go a bigger town like Norwalk or Stamford. CT is still very segregated in some ways, due to historical redlining.

Unironically yes, give a living salary to people who are used to having to work for a living to allow them to represent their constituents. They have had to actually live paycheck to paycheck, had to go without, and they would be the most likely to represent faithfully the people who have had to live the same life, because they know how much it sucks. Otherwise you get someone who thinks nothing needs to be done to help the poor because they just need to pull themselves up by their bootstraps and maybe consider having their housekeepers come half as often if they are having trouble paying their bills (in case this needs saying, most working class people don’t have housekeepers so this is an out of touch perspective.)

Try getting a cab/Uber in NYCX when it's raining. Now add light rail and take away some parking. What have you solved? I'll often do an errand in Manchester, then drop by West Hartford, perhaps before picking somebody up at BDL. Using light rail wouldn't get me near my stops, so it would add extra time at best. And if I bought stuff?

I both agree and disagree. In this case I think OP has shown immense respect for the gentlemen and his family, even calling out apathetic commenters down below for potential bias.

I feel for the family, as it is an awful thing to have happen. But talking about it is the first step to being able to address things like this. Suicide is an awful reality that far too many people resort to from ALL WALKS OF LIFE. What can be done to help? Honest discussions regarding reality are important, no matter how gruesome. There is a difference between posting for points, and spreading awareness/news.

Edit: grammar

There are usually shuttles in Greenwich, Stamford, and Norwalk that take you from a certain point where there are a bunch of office buildings straight to the train. I used to work in an office like that where there was a shuttle that ran all day and made 4 round trips per hour.
