Ehh it is, and rural areas are among the most in need of affordable housing and apartments. Besides woke communities of only free standing homes is such a new concept.

Besides, there's a whole host of awful history on how free standing large homes became the norm and it wasn't great reasons tbh. It was an active attempt to social engineer communities to make a very small subsect of people feel "safe" as opposed to dealing with those of lesser means and frankly black people. That's the history and it's clear and it's very very immoral.

I think New Haven is much nicer now then when I was there for 2 years in the late 90s. The cost has definitely crept up over the years.

I live and work in Windsor locks. Just bought a house here a month ago. Got a good amount of house for the $ considering the market. I don't even notice the air traffic most of the time and I am only a mile from the airport. Taxes are much cheaper than West Suffield. Neighborhood is decent with friendly people and is quiet.

I lived there for 2 years and hated every minute of it, but I also lived on Winchester Ave lol. Lots of crime/police activity, idiotic drivers, and both my gf’s car and mine got hit and run a few weeks apart from each other.

Sure there’s night life and restaurants but that wasn’t our thing. We are much happier in rural CT now

i personally enjoy new haven. i don’t live there but i do have a good time whenever i go. plenty of culture (by usa standards) concerts at college st music hall or woolsey hall if you like classical, good food, especially pizza, quite walkable for the most part (again, by us standards). however, all that stuff is mostly clustered around downtown, once you get into the suburbs it gets kinda shitty/boring

You’re ridiculous and going to get someone killed. The threat you made against west Hartford today was sickening. You have nothing but hate in your heart.

The landlord is wrong, it does not automatically become void.

However as stated, the landlord would have to be an idiot to enter into a new lease on a property they intend to sell. That would be a foolish thing to do if you want to sell the property easily and for the most money.

I think its because your question is all over the place and bc it's scenario driven.

If there is a lease for a tenant and the property is sold.... The new owner must honor the lease unless a) the new owner plans to move in or b) the lease has a clause saying it wouldn't be transferred. (This is general there are always specific scenarios. I haven't read laws in CT revently tho to see if B is still an option).

In this case there is no lease. The current owner would honestly be stupid to offer a lease is they want to sell.

Your girlfriend should look for a new place to live.

It was all a way for the rich neighbors to keep the property from being developed. By making it a “church” it became a nonprofit and a tax deduction. I don’t think religious feeling had anything to do with it. It is a gorgeous property and a fantastic building but it was all done for selfish reasons.

If you didn’t have the commute, I would say West Hartford. Since you have the commute, I would check out South Windsor or Middletown.

South Windsor is going to be cheaper both in terms of upfront cost and property taxes. It’s also most likely going to be an easier commute. The con is you will have to travel (but not far) for good food and outdoor recreation.

Middletown on the other hand has a higher cost of living and most likely a worse commute but has more things to do.

Up to you. Best of luck!
