3000 sq. ft house with a 40 panel solar system installed 2015. $12.84 electric bill this month which is the same as every month. Solar lease payment of $100 a month. Bill is same Even in summer with central AC and swimming pool. We have gas heat and last winter had bills up to $600 a month. Installed smart thermostats and never set heat above 61 degrees when home. During day when at work/school heat set at 52 degrees. We wear hoodies! $200 gas bill this month. Just replaced 25 year old boiler last week with more efficient unit courtesy of my American Home Shield policy.

What’s your budget? Wilton and Ridgefield will be the priciest. Newtown is still up there, Southbury is outside Fairfield county(but borders Newtown) so it’s the most reasonable, but still pricy. All school systems are good, but feeling the strain of a lot of transplants in recent years. Is commuting distance a consideration?

I work for the Whale. It's a fun time and we play Brass Bonanza after goals! We've got three more home games left in the season (February 18, 19, and 26). Come on out to a game!

Fun fact: Former Hartford Whaler Bryan Marchment's niece, Kennedy Marchment, is on the Whale. She was the PHF MVP last season!
