I would agree. Unfortunately the tool I'm looking for, while not being made by them, is only sold and branded under the Mac name. The lady at Mac corporate was reluctant to give me any contact info to an independent truck without an affiliation to a shop.

Yes -- no relationship develops overnight. You still need time and the right people, personalities, and schedules to form real, mutual connections with others.

With that in mind, you should be prepared to partake in activities and events that you actually enjoy, or at least be willing to put an honest effort in. Not everything you do will help you make a friend, or make a friend in that immediate moment. You should still continuously put yourself out there, though, and have fun while you do it!

Hi there. You definitely should talk to a good lawyer and an insurance agent/broker with experience in international exposures.

Insurance-wise, at a minimum you need general liability insurance that will respond in all countries you plan to operate in, as well as auto liability insurance if you’re going to be transporting people in vehicles/buses. Property insurance for any property owned by the business (computers, etc.)

It would depend on how you structure your business as far as coverage for clients who get sick/die overseas and need to be transported back to the states or have their remains repatriated (as in, you could bake this coverage into your costs and provide it to clients, or you could require them to provide proof of their own travel insurance). Just something to think about.

But again, a licensed agent is the person to talk to about all insurance considerations. Operating in many countries can be very complicated.
