There is a lot to unpack here outside of the illegal possession which CT law still didn’t prevent (go figure 🤦♂️). Multiple brutal beatdowns without notification to the parents and only now was the kid expelled? What?

What the hell are you talking about?
Article clearly says the gun this kid had was stolen from state of GA during the summer.
I understand you have a narrative you push on here all the time but at least do the minimum and skim the article first.

At 39, I moved to city where I didn’t know a soul besides my husband. Meetup was a lifeline. I joined meetups for just about anything that sounded appealing. Some were duds, a few resulted in friendships that continue. And all of them got me out of the house, and my own head, for a few hours.

Not a bad idea. I checked meet up and there was nothing really appealing to me.

Two year old, 2-bedroom log cabin, 1200 square feet with one heat pump, thermostat set at 58˚ = $383. Typically $175 for January. Fuck Eversource.

It's a couple rooms in a small town hall that was originally built by Civil War vets. The value of that building alone is enough for the town to keep up the museum until they need a new one.
And even if it wasn't you're really too cheap for a town hall museum?

I’ve seen people have a lot of success with posting things similar to this in local town Facebook groups.
Similarly, meetup.com is a great resource. Or if sports are your thing, most towns have adult sports leagues where you can meet new people and break up the monotony. Good luck!

Not just you. My husband and I moved here in 2016, and haven't made any friends. I have a lot of what they call weak social connections via walking my dog, but none of those have actually turned into friendships. Everyone is either way younger than us, or just established in their own friend groups. Can get pretty lonely sometimes.

My mother grew up there. I remember visiting my grandparents and how beautiful it was. West Haven has nice beaches, but the crime and street racing is out of control. I am afraid to ride my bike here.
