You can use a knife in the grout joint and cut it back at a 30 • angle

As long as the pipe looks to be in good shape, not too rusted and no leaks, there's no need to replace it. I'd probably put in a new check valve just because they're cheap and having been dry for so long the old one might not seal very well.

Ok, don’t call an electrician, do everything yourself. Then call us when you can’t figure out the situation you got yourself in and we’ll be sure to charge the “homeowner tried to do it themself” price. Cause when we have to figure out your three way switch you messed up, that’s another $250 diagnosis charge.

Cut through the white plastic flush arm parallel with the spindle. Once it's through just prise it off unscrew the plastic hex nut on the inside then replace the whole thing.

Reply to I'm installing an awning and can't tell why a small overhang was installed above the window. by BringsHomeBones
It is stopping rain/ water from entering from top of window and ruining your internal walls me personally would trim it down slightly and build awning above it

Not ineffective. But the eaves of the house cover the window further out. Plus, it's the only window in the house that has one.

I'll have to make sure any awning I install provides equal cover.

It's actually amazing how much of an improvement even a small overhang can do for keeping water out.

I don't mean to be an ass, but that installation is a classic build method. During inclement weather such a feature shall maintain the integrity of your home.
It was not put there for looks.

But it doesn't provide any real shelter from rain and shade that the eaves don't already provide. Unless I'm missing something

Toilet flush handles are reverse threaded so they don't loosen up with each flush, which is a counterclockwise turning. Instead they tend to snug up if anything because of the reverse thread. This is due to the standard handle placement on the front right of the tank.

The screw? Crazy lol I'll check later
Any reason why they'd reverse thread it?

Thanks for clearing that up. Yes, removing screws and pulling out the dishwasher would definitely not count as readily accessible.

A n-95 is better but a kn95 is better than nothing. Closing the vent or turning off the heat when he’s working is a good idea. Personally I would be more concerned with the regular dust particles than with any asbestos. It sounds like thats what gave your son a stuffy nose.
Even if there is a positive result on the asbestos test I still wouldn’t be very worried. There are guys who work with old drywall every day for decades and never develop any problems.

thank you for your reply. he wore a kn95 mask. that probably is not as good. I asked him to double it up with the masks but nope. what male listens to a female? this was the bathroom in the downstairs. when I got home my son wanted to conduct experiments with his present so we stayed downstairs since it has a ceramic floor and can easily be cleaned up. now, you have to turn the corner in order to see the bathroom he was working on. he did not turn off the heat so now I feel like we are all inhaling every particle because of our vent system.
last year our friend knocked the wall down in the laundry room. never thought about getting it tested and he acted like it was not a big deal. he removed some installation and never did it pass my mind. husband said we are doomed because of that work if this comes back positive.

Used a similar product, which broke off below the grout line. If you bend one back and forth that hasn’t been used yet, where does it break?
