That's how I do it it's 12v you will be fine. Only issue is if there is some kind of dead short in the powersuply and you get 230v though the wires but I highly doubt that would happen. If your that worried about it see if you can get alligator clips for your multi meter. Or some other way of testing it without actually touching the wires.

I flew in a Emirates 777 I think it was a few years ago which had a beautiful starry ceiling. I've often thought about doing something similar. Your work certainly looks amazing and something you can't really take shortcuts on to get a good effect. (I did find a laser version but it bounces around and doesn't cover the whole ceiling).

Like mentioned, replacing a garbage disposal is easy. However, they're probably about $100 at least.

If it is badly jammed, I have fixed mine by throwing it upside down outside on the driveway. Just gentle drops to dislodge any objects in the garbage disposal. But I would put a new one in even if you are able to fix your old one
