I have seen standing hooks - I think they're called shepherds hooks? - and have considered getting one for similar reasons, I'm not so much worried about the structural capabilities as much as I know I will want to change the location lol.

I am in Phoenix and have been wanting it moreso because makes sense for our landscaping - a work in progress but basic desert xeriscape - the zone climate etc makes it easy to work with, esp as i can use the environment (big rocks etc) to keep things weighed down if need be.

OK Pro tip

Pull it all out and start over up a few inches.

Get torqx drive screws often called "star drive"

I won't use anything else - ever - if I can get away with it and I usually can.

Get a torqx driver for your drill or just a manual T handle driver (don't buy junk - ever) Bondhus or Wiha brand are the best. Star Drive bits for a power drill come in different sizes unlike Slotted or Phillips drive screws. Star drive screws don't cam out, they drive more cleanly and easily. They are so much better than anything else.

You can get torqx drive bits and screws at the BORG or any hardware store or online everywhere.

Funny, I was going to mention dogs, cause I had 3 dogs when I was deciding on what to do with my driveway, and heat on their paws, or even for them to lay down on (they liked laying on the driveway) was important to my wife and I. (We ended-up keeping it gravel, but added more gravel, as we lived in a rural area, and we just liked the gravel look).
