That - as well as it signals to the car mounted charger how much current it can pull. An EVSE might be connected to a 30A circuit (and can handle 100A) but the onboard charger can pull a full 80A. If it did, it’d trip the supplying breaker, so the EVSE is signaling to the onboard charger (AC/DC converter, a rectifier) how much current that is ‘available’. Only side effect is longer charge times, which rarely is an issue in a home location.

If my memory serves me, the cable is energized with low current only, when being plugged in. After the plug has been mated to the vehicle, the vehicle sends a signal to the wall unit to turn on the high power circuit.

Yeah, backer rod is what I was thinking. It's basically the same thing as the weather strip tubes, different sections of the store for sure.
I guess I grew up using caulk as a general term for anything that covered a joint, be it silicon or traditional stuff. OP should choose their goop for their situation.

The curious thing is I have 4 toilets and this is the only one that is acting up.

not according to the new 2024 IECC. I'm not saying you're wrong, I'm just saying that's not how they look at it.

Yeah then it might be more likely a ring of mineral deposit formed and is keeping it stuck open a little. I have hard well water and i gotta do mine every other month or so.

I would recommend getting a HALO MicroEdge Direct Mount Downlight. It's only half an inch thick, so it will take up barely any room in the cabinet, and it comes with the junction box you'll need to hide that nasty electrical tape splice.

Put a piece of toilet paper in the toilet at the back of the bowl. If water is running down it will wash it down into the bowl.
If it is leaking into the bowl then you need to replace the seals. Relatively easy job, plenty of YouTube videos to help

Ah I see, I’ll give this a try with the curl. This is the guest bedroom toilet, literally used once or twice a month at the most. Less than two year old.

Your fill valve is staying open. Might be some crud in it, or its worn irregularly. You can take it apart and check, or try some clr. Let it sit in the tank overnight and flush a few times, see if it stops.

Sounds like you need a new toilet valve..

If it's not level you wind up sticking things together at angles that are slightly different from 90 degrees. In a small space it's not a big deal. In a large space you wind up with gaps and overlaps as you move across the room.

Bullshit, there is no "qualified to make it" police and even if there were there isn't a "qualified to make it" standard for the non-existant "qualified to make it" law to require.
It's really not that hard to understand and you absolutely do not know anybody who this happened to.

- Can you move it to the other left side of the panel? For potential code issues, not safety. You have far more ignition sources - from the hot surface igniter in the furnace - than you’d ever have from the EVSE and associated cords.
- EVSE is not a charger. Just a way to get 208/240 V to the car - and the onboard charger. It’s really only a dance cable hanger, with some added intelligence.

Taking the window out and replacing it with painted wood would be the best bet.

Get a belt sander with 40-60 grit. Be prepared to go through tons of belts as the glue will foul them quickly

If you have access to a spare 120mm computer fan you can print two of these and use it to provide forced air ventilation on the 4" flexible hose.

I noticed our friend here said to wait an hour before pulling your tape. Not to nitpick but I was taught to pull your tape immediately after your final swipe. But what do I know, I don’t even tape when I do these types of caulk jobs.

I've drilled holes for carriage bolts in a 2x10, narrow side (as in 9.5" long). Had a 36" bit typically used for installing electrical cables, was easy.

Make sure you pre-drill the holes to prevent cracking.
