Sounds like threading is an easy first option, and you have other options if that doesn't work for some reason. Let me know how it works, and good luck.

Buy a dust mask with a great seal and replaceable filters and rent a floor sander from True Value (or whatever equipment rental place is in your area,) and prepare for a lot of sanding, vacuuming and sanding again. I have done it and it is a pain, but it really clears the floor up nicely. Keep in mind, you’ll have to match stain and finish again.

Every so often this bubbling gets worse. Today it is now about 50cm longer towards the ground but hasn’t moved for many months. However we got a bunch of rain and have high humidity today. It is in the toilet which is internal to the house, no walls shared external.
Is it a water leak in the roof? Poorly finished paint or plaster? Something else? The bubbling feels cool but isn’t wet and I cannot see water on the wall.

Interesting - That looks an ideal dashcam. I currently use an Aukey DR02 but that Toyota integrated one looks great - no superfluous screen, nice big buttons, wifi integrated...
Can you get these/an alternative without owning a Toyota?

If it was put in between 1940 and 1980 it very well may have. But it's not a concern if you don't disturb it, ie cut or demo it.

Home Depot and Lowes sell premade cabinets in a few basic colors/styles. They also have cabinet units specifically for going above a washer dryer that are 60" long, 24"tall and 12" deep. Just search for Laundry Cabinet.

New home, and the cold water pipes going to the washing machine are about 1/8" away from an uninsulated exterior wall. We haven't had any major freezes yet, and I'm trying to figure out the best way of insulating these pipes to avoid any potential problems this winter.
I was wondering if putting a few sheets of insulation on the outside of the house might help. Since we are planning to re-side the place next summer, I was thinking that just adding some insulation now might solve our current pipe issue while also saving a bit of work down the road.
Thoughts? Any other suggestions about ways to keep the pipes insulated?

Eh…the wiring is easy enough to hide in a panel 🤷♂️.

No offense, but it is never a good idea to dry sand anything that has even the slightest possibly of containing asbestos, that's how it becomes airborne and gets into your lungs. Always keep anything you suspect that may potentially contain asbestos wet so it doesn't become airborne...hence using a wallpaper steamer and a putty knife to remove the mastic...and then do a light damp sand, wiping down as you go, to make sure you have removed every bit of it before letting it completely dry (a good 2 weeks, or more if it's humid) and then begin your refinishing sanding.

I'd need a vice and a press drill for that, I have neither :P They're on my list of things to buy though, as I need the vice for woodwork and bike repair/maintenance (freewheel locking rings have a lovely habit of locking up really tightly...) + accurately drilling out holes in plastic/aluminium for 3D printed nerf blasters. But I need to finish the PC build, so no hardware for the moment ;-;

> I'd just suggest doing a manual pull check once it's done to make sure you're not going to be three-wheeling it home.
Hah, I can easily carry the stupid thing it that happens. After all it's at home and only for home use.
Worst comes to worst I'll no. 8 wire it and jerry-rig a solid solution. Already had to do that with a flat pack bed that fell apart due to too short screws and no anchors for the bolts.
Or I can just transplant the new motor into the old lawn mower, since it's wheels have stayed on. Unlike it's metal exhaust cage, which is still held in place by annoyingly thick wire from old climbing plant fence support wire.

It's over 1cm in diameter, too blobby (hand cutting a lawn with a sickle is "fun") though to haul it out of the garage to check. Think it's about 1.2-1.4cm roughly. Hence why I thought it could take a thread and nut.

Not speed nuts, more like these: https://www.anzor.co.nz/washers/internal-tooth-lock-washers Only with thinner metal on the teeth and the teeth are wider too.
[edit] - bless google image search, even with inaccurate search terms it can be rather useful :3 As it appears these are very much the same as the ones on the axles: https://www.ubuy.co.id/en/product/R9C66IW-oiiki-200pcs-m2-m2-5-m3-m4-m5-internal-tooth-starlock-washers-quick-speed-locking-washers-push-on-sp

Do they flick their food about? That may be why. Or have they trained you to react when they do it?
davidmlewisjr t1_iy77ok5 wrote
Most linoleum contains Jute. Why do you suspect asbestos? Are you planning to sand, or scrape?
Try some WD-40 on a spot, let it set, then see if it wipes away. Varsol was a thing , once, and still is effective. Try some of that for comparison.
