I'd like to replicate the branded lovebox minus the app. It needs to be able to receive text and photos via data sent from my phone or PC. She'd receive feedback from the box (spinning symbol). I have Arduino boards and most of the parts I think I need to make this happen.

Yes. It's along the lines of that project. I'd like to replicate the lovebox. She uses a MacBook for home and has a work-issued ThinkPad. I was under the assumption that the "lovebox" was a standalone device... If it's not, would I have to use a pi? My budget is about $200. I'm planning on visiting a Microcenter today...

Edit: upon further reading, I'm realizing that github you posted is EXACTLY what I'd like to do. "it works don't touch it" would get the job done for this gift.

Soak the floor with water and use a thin flexible putty knife to gently work under the first couple. After that a stiff putty knife wil pop off the rest. Water dissolves compound so any remaining compound can be removed by soaking the compound and letting it soak in. A coarse brick sponge will be helpful.

If you have already used drywall compound instead of tile adhesive to install tiles, you may be in a difficult situation. The tiles are likely not properly secured to the surface, and there is a risk that they could come loose and fall off. Additionally, the drywall compound may not provide a strong, durable bond between the tiles and the surface, which could lead to problems with the tiles cracking or breaking.

I'm just trying to figure out what the heck happened with all those boards. Is it supposed to be holding something up? Why is there a burnt section? Who did this?
