Check out Elfin Lakes - the trail head is not far from the Squamish city limits and the views at the top are amazing. Even better, and not just limited to Elfin Lakes (but I often used to time my hikes up there just for this) is that the Perseid Meteor Shower peaks on August 12th so any time out of the light pollution, and no clouds, could give you quite the experience.

So, where did you start? How far did you hike from the trailhead and what was the rise to get this photo? Did you day hike in or did you camp a few nights?

Vancouver: St Mark’s Summit, Lynn Peak Squamish: Stawamus Chief 1st & 2nd Peak, Brunswick Mountain Trail, Deeks Lake, Tunnel Bluffs Whistler: Panorama Ridge, Joffre Lake

We have tons more, but these hikes will give you incredible views that will make you come back especially St Marks, Stawamus Chief, Brunswick, Tunnel, Panorama and Joffree.

Make sure you make a reservation with BC Parks if you plan to visit Garibaldi Park (panorama ridge), Golden Ears Park, and Joffre Lake. Book 2 days in advance, exactly at 7AM PST. Booking is free!
