This is very typical of the entire Maine coast, apart from a bit of southern Maine where there are some beaches. The whole state is one big display of glacial activity.

The smell of flowers walking the trail down to the overlook is amazing. I will never forget how strong it was.

Just on the outskirts of Grand junction Colorado you can see the same thing.

Accepted. Aplogies for my attitude and ignorance of geography.

Thats because Tyrol is in Austria and South Tyrol is in the North of Italy. Two complete different countries.

That was my thought too. We do pointless shit all the time, but this seems extra pointless.

I definitely believe this.
I only had two days, and I didn't make a reservation. So the first day I pull up to the gate at dawn or something and they have that big sign saying that you need to have an appointment or whatever they call it.
Obviously I didn't, so I left the park and I just went to some other arches that are around in the area. This was still awesome. But I checked the internet, and it turns out that you don't need a reservation or an appointment or whatever it is if you show up before 5:30 a.m.
So that's what I did the next day: I think I was there for like 12 hours or something. I walked to the Dark Angel. It was unbelievable. I loved the scramble on top of the fin.
Man I'd love to go back and do the rest of the park, do that again, just spend quite a bit of time there walking around. And go to more arches that are around the area outside the park, too.

Karijini is my favourite place in the world. So much open space, quiet water holes and the ability to find somewhere and lose yourself in nature.

Curious if there is any wildlife present that is unique to that island?

Glad you specified SOUTH Tyrol, otherwise it would have been confusing.

I love it when this sub has a place I've been. I first visited in 1989 and took a photo which I had enlarged on a colour photocopier to stick on my wall.

We came here when I was a child. Gorgeous! I had such fun on that trail that I started running and running down it, not knowing how far behind I was leaving my family. They sent my sister running ahead to get me. Dad was not too happy. I think my parents decompressed with a couple of mai tai’s when we got back to the hotel :)
