There was a big wash out a few years ago and land ownership issues where the mule rude business was located. I'm not sure if the trail is open to hike again, but there are a limited amount of pane trips down to the peninsula as well.

Technically called "rime ice" when caused by foggy conditions. Hoar frost is from extreme cold temps on clear nights. I just learnt this yesterday I am no ice expert lol
