I've been on some beautiful hikes up in Julian. I have a mental image of the sunset over golden grass looking west over the brown hills leading away. It was a moderate hike that took about 45 minutes to obtain the view, but it was completely worth it.

It’s wild because their cells keep regenerating. The main thing that kills them is a larger alligator or food scarcity. Otherwise the just keep growing. And not so much “high” as “far.” Propel themselves up a bank twice their body length fairly easily.
