Thanks for the tip thats reassuring. We're just doing day hikes so shouldn't be a problem with the amount of people on some of the trails.

I've been on some beautiful hikes up in Julian. I have a mental image of the sunset over golden grass looking west over the brown hills leading away. It was a moderate hike that took about 45 minutes to obtain the view, but it was completely worth it.

Tough travelling up here at this time of year.
High of about -35C today. Sun is up for about 4.5 hours now. 69 degrees north latitude.
But MANY areas of Canada are absolutely beautiful, and very reachable at any time.

It’s wild because their cells keep regenerating. The main thing that kills them is a larger alligator or food scarcity. Otherwise the just keep growing. And not so much “high” as “far.” Propel themselves up a bank twice their body length fairly easily.

I agree, this was near NOLA if that makes any difference. Could it be that swamps differ depending on location?
