This desolate, barren area of Blue Canyon resembles the moon's surface sufficiently that a portion of it was used to test moon rover and train astronauts. The colors and shapes changed drastically as the sun moved across the sky. I loved the sunrise colors the best even without clouds in the sky.

Sedona is surprisingly pretty. I went to the lava river cave north of there and the drive through the mountains to Sedona after was awesome. Nice pic btw

I don't know that I've experienced a more dramatic "reveal" than rounding that final bend when heading into Sedona from the south and all of a sudden that valley appears before you. I've done it twice, both times around sunset, and it took my breath both times.
