Hmm, looks like I can't dm you either for some reason.
Transhumanism is basically a school of thought that argues we should improve humanity through developing body modifying tech, for various reasons, including improving our intellectual capacity, extending lifespan and generally overcoming the limitations of human existence. It's very popular in science fiction.
Your idea of overcoming racism by making racial characteristics modifiable is a great example.

Considering current methods can extract 99% usable material, yeah 70% is low.

I am not sure that AI will have as much impact on jobs as people believe. The simple reason is that the cost of implementing AI in most cases is not worth the benefits. Cooking is listed here as an example, where AR glasses are supposed to help cooks and servers. Well, they seem to be doing fine without AR/AI helping them, so why incur the cost and complexity of implementing something to marginally increase productivity of a low wage worker.
I suspect this will be the case in most occupations, the cost and complexity of AI implementation will only make it viable for high wage jobs, otherwise it's just not worth it.

To me it’s like eating a cheeseburger and saying it’s ok because I had lettuce tomato on it. Those are healthy. They should cancel out the calories and artery clogging grease.

That thumbnail is Dave Bautista if he pursued science.

You're absolutely right and it's a shame people don't get that real world situations are nuanced and immediate needs matter.

I'm familiar with it. But it's definitely not the only way forward. Maybe the the most desirable way forward, but we definitely have the option to fuck up...and it looks like we are going down that road. Globalization at present appears to be teetering on the brink of collapse.

From the Article
>"Future missions that require HD video, robotics, sensing applications, telemetry or biometrics will need the advanced capabilities that cellular networks enable," Nokia said on its web page about the NASA partnership.

It would not affect racism at all, until it became as commonplace as plastic surgery is today. That is to say, not until it's common enough that most people have someone close to them that has used this kind of gene modification. Even then I expect you would still have quite a bit, as most people I've met who were racist, would never bother to find out what you were before gene therapy. They would just see skin color in the first place, and not bother beyond that. Maybe you would get a large number of black people trying to look more white. But that would only make racism worse, as those who did not undergo gene therapy would catch even more.

Gasoline perhaps but we need hydrocarbons for so many products most don't realize.

We are decades away from only having electric cars on the road, new drilling will be needed to sustain those vehicles in the future. Especially with electric vehicle prices. I personally was wanting to get a F150 Lightning, but it went from 40k to 60k for the base truck. Prices like that keep buyers like me out of the market.

I guess it would be nice if it can be used for other applications and it's safer for the environment, but we need to move away from lithium batteries.

Morality isn't about people or other beings. Its about what you care about.
People care about people.
An AI could care about anything. Maybe its people, maybe its paperclips.
To it, every day that you and your family aren't paperclips could be a tragedy of immense proportion. Equivalent to watching a city be destroyed.
I think you underestimate just how unrelated intelligence and morality are on a fundamental level. Read on the "orthogonality thesis"
The closest thing to morality that will arise from intelligence is game theory.

People are so naive. We haven’t even scratched the surface on what will be bought on this planet, we are, for all intents and purposes, still one of the early citizens of this planet, life will exist in 50-100-500 years, infrastructure will be put everywhere it can be. The question is, will be personally see it? No, we will be long gone, but it’s naive to think that we’ve peaked at what and where we will buy and purchase in the near and distant future.
