Kind of shit that capitalism teaches you. Sunk cost fallacy will entrap you into a cycle of constant misery. Extract happiness from the journey not the goal, if the journey is too costly then the goal, whatever it is, doesn't matter.

And none of those would be considered quotes of Socrates, as each of those authors is presenting their own dramatic work.
The only quotes of Socrates that could be regarded as true would be from historians who are trying to make an accurate record. But Plato was trying to present a certain philosophical message himself, and to make something that is dramatic.

isn't this obvious?
this picture does not repressent at all how the world works. (most if not all "deep" illustrations out there do not repressent reality at all).
that person has no way of knowing if the diamonds even exist there or if he is digging in the proper direction.
even if something exists there that person has no way of knowing if that is diamonds or some pile of garbage.

It is rich guy shit. I’m in my moving slow, looking inward phase only because I can afford to. My basic needs and more are met. Now I have the time to try and grow.
This is why it is important that societies basic needs are met. Once those are met we can focus on the rest of it.
Which is why those in power keep us tired, hungry, poor, jailed etc. So we can’t/don’t wake up and fight back.

The method of dialectic is not very conducive to writing, as one needs to be able to ask and answer, but a reader can only read and can't be questioned directly.

Obligatory "it wasn't that socrates" but...
This is a particularly good way to approach tidying somewhere that's really messy and disorganised. Focus on where items should go. Often mess results from never sorting out proper places to put stuff. Once everything has a 'home', tidying up gets way easier.

I think this was back in the good old days when morphine and heroin were over the counter medicine.

Or you could have just borked the prospect and are endlessly chiseling away into schist and will only find more schist until you reach the Earth's mantle.
I hate this comic.
The point is to look at the schist you've already mined. Realize that if you shifted mining methods and manage to extract blocks...you can make them into counter tops and sell them.
I hate this comic.

I recall years ago a coal mine in the Eastern USA accidentally dug into an underground lake.
Didn't work out well for the miners. Sadly I can't remember where it took place.

Bread and Circuses. We're literally playing through iterative archetypes that are thousands of years old. They just get more complex over time.
