I do this. I work in IT and sometimes I forget all the things I do and rediscover work I have done. However, I will find it and think to myself, "wow, thus was done really well and and I don't have to do anything." Or, "This issue would be easy to solve if someone had done this in the past" and find that I have already done exactly that. I am proud of past me in those moments.

Past me sometimes gets black out drunk and I have to deal with the consequences, which are painful and sometimes embarrassing.
But every now on then, he leaves me some pizza or tacos, and sometimes the dishwasher was loaded and run.
He and I, well, we've come to an understanding.

Ah, focus. Yeah, my brain doesn't work that way, until it super works that way - but you never know when that will be. That unpredictability results in your leaning hard into that focus, which is great and all until you realize you've neglected everything else over the excessive amount of time you've unwittingly spent working on "this". Boom overwhelmed again.
Not hating on this post, or the other helpful advice and encouragement throughout this thread. It's just not quite that simple for some of us, and it can be frustrating when people try to help by sharing the same approaches you've tried innumerable times without success. I appreciate the willingness to try to help, but sometimes it feels very reductive of the challenge in managing ADHD.

That only accounts for 3 out of 8 billion so not really. They would be scattered randomly throughout if we took the stats literally. 5bill else where.

Reply to adults who look back at pictures of their younger selves and realize they had no reason to be so insecure back then, should bear in mind that they will likely be thinking the same thing in a couple decades when looking back on their current selves [discussion] by ideas_now
I have struggled with confidence since I was conscious… But looking back and seeing how I looked has helped me so much. I always thought I was so fat and so ugly; my whole family tried to tell me otherwise and I thought they were liars but I was so gorgeous and definitely a healthy weight. I never try to hate on myself now, especially since people say that I look so much like my mother, who is the most gorgeous woman ever!!

Keep telling yourself it is true. Some people are more direct and some people rely on more subtle ways to signal, that you are no longer welcome in their life. Your inability to recognize it, is not their problem. I met multiple people, that couldn't let go because, the signals from their partner weren't “clear”. Have some dignity and let them be. If they want to be with you, they will show it.

Yes, after reading up on it over the last couple of hours, just for fun, I found out something similar. The elephant was apparently already scheduled for "execution", and the method of using electrocution to kill it was only decided after they received backlash for planning to hang it (somehow?). The event was, however, filmed by the Edison company, and the film was credited to Edison himself - which is still a pretty messed up thing to do! Either way, the Topsy song from Bob's Burgers is incredibly catchy :)
The part about pets is still factual, though; he actively backed and supported a campaign which paid kids a quarter for pets - be it their own or ones they'd stolen from their neighbourhoods - and then used them as a demonstration to 'prove' the dangers of AC power. In fact, they would first use DC power to torture the animals, only to then switch to AC power to kill them. Still barely scratches the surface of the messed up stuff he did, of course.

That’s because he stole and colluded with the highest bidder. One of the many men that help ruin the world. Edit: Basically admits in the quote that he did nothing. He just found a way…

You wouldn’t have a problem with the quote if his name wasn’t attached.

When I was burned out a couple of years ago, I lived every day 10 seconds at a time for few months. It was hell...
My brain was so fucked that I couldn't focus on anything for more than a couple of seconds at a time, and I had a long constant panic attack from the moment I woke up to the moment I fell asleep. Every waking moment was just a loop of 10 seconds of breathing exercises, to stop my lips and fingers from going numb before passing out.
I don't know why I was reminded of that from this post though.
