I don’t know how you got there but I think that it’s sound advice. Enjoy the rest of your day!

My eyes played tricks on me and I read "It's okay to take pants off sometimes" maybe this would be more practical advice?

Yeah, im breaking it down to how many I want done in a specific time period, and then celebrating that instead of looking at the mountain more to go, and its helping for sure, thank you!

That’s well said! I’m definitely on board with you that it’s all about comparison to ourselves
Constant comparison yourself to others is a great way to rob satisfaction—there’s always someone doing “better” than you
xidaer t1_j566u0j wrote
So our best is different everyday and progress is not always linear- but the only source of comparison should be ourselves the day before. We learn from others, admire or aspire to them, but in the end it’s our comparison to ourselves that matter.

Agreed. Considering I’m under so much pressure at work to always have something to do, this advice does not help :/
TreatThompson OP t1_j563udr wrote
On a tangent of this note is that focusing on results will lessen the scope of what we pursue because big ambitious endeavours have a lower chance of achieving results
So we’ll limit our life when results are the focus

It's the "wisdom" part of the serenity prayer that I always seem to have the most problems with.

English is not my language. But I always thought about one thing. No-where is also Now-here. You're not lost.

This. Internal vs. external validation.
External validation means that you are getting your feelings of self-worth based on sources outside of yourself. Internal validation means that you are gaining your sense of self-worth based on what your own opinions about yourself are.
Its more prevalent in younger people, but doesn't necessarily fade with age. Celebrities are a good example, bc their livelihood will always depend in part on external validation.
