Cool stuff and very rich to actually see on scale where it's happening. Will def keep track of this.
If it helps: Reuters, Associated Press, Agence France-Press, TASS and United Press International are great and reliable sources of International news.

Love it! But I thought it was pretty funny that nothing at all is Going on in Ukraine or Russia. All good nothing relevant to see here :p

The company I used to work for had this functionality (Everbridge). It used to pull information from NC4, Nixle, NWS and a whole bunch of other sources... You could then send the information from the events to assets who could be affected by the events. They called it Visual Command Center

Thanks for replying!
It's a really cool idea, it may just need filters or something so you can put more activity without saturating the map. It may also be worth thinking about the scale of a conflict or event scaling the icon. So, for example the Russia Ukraine issue is very popular, has been ongoing for awhile now and affects quite a lot around the world... So that would be bigger (just a thought). The final thing is how to manage when multiple countries are involved.
Good luck and well done!

I agree the timeframe should at least be listed. Maybe eventually user could select timeframe, like “last 24hrs” / “last 7 days” / .. etc

I like it but I had a shameful laugh when I saw the only dots in the USA are guns.

This is wonderful. I have given it a cursory glance but it looks spectacular on mobile. Is there a key wherein i can access elements at a toggle to access events quickly of my interest and view them??

Cool idea, for example today begins second round of presidential vote iN Czechia, you could start adding similar stuff too, since it’s political. Also how long do you want to keep stories visible? Nepal plane crash was almost 2 weeks ago and the icon is still red. Maybe it should start fading out after a week or so.

For a second I misread this as "Fox News"... everything was looking great until... keep up the great work!

Sources are just based on a few News agencies and Wikipedia articles I've picked out. Will update it with proper feeds soon.
Red areas are disputed territory. I'll be adding a section for those soon too.

Very cool idea.
What sources are you using? Add more sources, please, the map seems a little bare of events. It would be cool if there was at least one something for the most countries.
Why some areas are red?
Currently selected date shows articles from different dates. For example I am selected 26 January, but I see a Turkey article from 22 January.
Every article links to the homepage of Wikipedia. It would be cool to parse actual news sites.

I checked out SlideAI before; the image is from Pexels, not AI generated. I got inspired by tome.app, but it can't do presentations from text and it doesn't export ppts, nor pdf. So, we've got both; you can export ppts and it has AI generated images plus we're adding speaker's notes!
Edit - Please also do check that SlidesAI only creates presentations only from text, not topic. Also, do compare the content of generated presentations!

Kind of reminds me of a world news screensaver I used to use. It animates a 3D globe of the earth and pinpoint locations for news headlines it would pull from RSS feeds. I think it still works but it probably hasn't been updated in 20 years. https://www.screensaversplanet.com/screensavers/world-news-603/

Seems like you wouldn't catch up to important events. E.g. if you look right now you wouldn't even know Ukraine is invaded by Russia and UK is paralyzed by strike actions
gumpiere t1_j62pm68 wrote
