>Only Microsoft has come close and did just that with Flight Sim.
They use Bing data though, not Google

If you go off the road you have to start over again.
When you reach the end you get a point. One point.

SimCity 2000 had an expansion called Streets of SimCity. SimCopter was before it, which I had. It was so fun!
The graphics were quite bad I thought, even in 1996. But I still had a blast.

I used to grind that out in the school library

That being said... this is kind of lame. You can drive anywhere, through trees, on top of buildings, over cliffs, across water... it's just a way to fly over a map using a car or bus as a floating not-quite-center point. Good concept, poor execution.

If you want a flying version, there's MS Flight Simulator

Drove straight to my house, parked in the drive. Love it!

this is awesome, especially from the driving experience standpoint: steering self-centering steering, vehicle dynamics... even drifting works.

Why hasn't some racing game capitalized on this yet? You could build your own racetrack anywhere.

Thank you for this, I just spent way too much time driving around. I'm 55 and my son complimented me on figuring out how to use the controls. 😂

Lol I was already doing this on Google maps while on the street view, I would always run a quick simulated drive whenever going somewhere I’m not familiar with.

This could be adapted so I could practice driving in Europe. I'm in the UK where we drive on the left, in Europe they drive mainly on the right. Being able to practice, especially reversed roundabouts would be so helpful. A GTA version would also be awesome.

Sim city 4, with the expansion allowed you to drive cars.
Sim copter too iirc

Fair enough. It’s worth mentioning that the cost of using street view is part of the reason for the price of VzFit.

There used to be a driving game based on the Google street view maps, but they got threatened with a lawsuit if I remember correctly.

Polaroids …. fancy! Although there was something wonderful about putting the developing sleeve in my bra when taking Polaroids on cold days.

VR headsets make me want to puke … disconnect between eyes and ears is too disorienting. Brain is an old model and ineligible for updates.
Coordinating an app and the bike is more functionality than I need. I may experiment with YouTube videos and play speed.
