Unless you have a bad battery.
Then the car will shut off - even with a good alternator.

Stupid stupid stupid fucking advice. As a guy who graduated with an near 4.0 through engineering bachelors and masters, I was absolutely miserable through most of it, almost every weekend I had no plans, had no friends near the end, then once I started to be "social" everyone I knew was like "Oh I don't actually like you, i just needed help with my homework", almost killed myself several times...
Life is short, have fun, make friends... FUCK THIS ADVICE!!!!!

Happiness is pretty tough with no friends.

Before I started college, I took a career aptitude test. This was a long time ago so I don't know what they are called today.
Anyway, the test measured me for my strongest skills along with what I enjoyed doing. The idea being the more you enjoy the work, the less it will feel like a wage cage. The test was accurate and suggested five solid career paths. The one I chose worked but about every ten years I changed to do something different.
So I guess my advice is to find a reputable place to take a test that can guide you. You have to be careful because some of the tests no matter what you answer will guide you to work at their place.
Good luck.

Reply to LPT: If you are feeling lonely this holiday season, consider volunteering for an organization that helps your fellow humans (or unfortunate animals). If at first you don't like it, try a different organization. It may take a few tries to find out what truly feels good. by ilovemybaldhead
I didn’t do it out of loneliness, but I spent a few years volunteering at a science museum for kids. For anyone curious, it’s called OMSI and it’s in Portland, Oregon.
I had the time of my life. Everyone who volunteered there was so sweet and fun to work with. And it’s always really cool to see kids getting to experiment with science-y stuff and watch their tiny minds explode as they try to figure out what’s happening.
Soup kitchens are also pretty fun, and there’s also a cool organization called Donate Life that works as an advocacy group for organ donation. I got to volunteer for some really fun events like big walks and the Portland pride festival and even the Rose City Comic-Con. People are sometimes a bit rude because they have a lot of misconstrued notions about organ donation but in general it was a lot of fun.

If there is still water in your rice after its done cooking you fucked up from the start.
LPT - 2:1 water to rice ratio. Bring water to a boil. Salt. Butter. Reduce heat to lowest setting. Cover with lid for about 15 - 18 minutes and check on it after that 15 min mark though it should be done unless you're making a stupid amount of rice.
There should be no "draining" of the rice.
Edit: It's probably a different type of rice than were all thinking.

Don't get hung up on the age of which you decide to make career shifts. I'm 27 years old, joined the military at 19. In just a couple short years I'll have 10 years of service in (half way to retirement) yet I'm going to be separating entirely to start a new career. Most people think I'm crazy for it, but I'm not happy with what I'm getting from the military anymore. I know lots of folks who have had career changes in their 40s and 50s. If you manage your finances correctly, you can do so much more than you'd imagine.

OP,
if you take nothing else away from this post, PLEASE take this. This is the way. It seems trivial now, but dive into finances early on and you'll learn the best way to manage your money to make the most of it and also make it work for you passively.

The MOST important thing he says in that video is “allow the rice to steam…do not take that lid off.”

Reply to LPT: Homeowners, get a box of pool noodles, I have found so many uses for mine that I have been glad to have them (I don't have a pool). by moviesetmonkey
I set up tents and bouncehouses for parties. They need to be staked into the earth, but the stakes need to remain partially uncovered for ease of removal
My go-to suggestion for the homeowners that desire to cover them completely (usually for safety) are the good ol- pool noodles!
These things can be used to cover sharp objects or otherwise serve as an impact bracer. Next time i go into a big city im putting rubber chickens and pool noodles around my car - no nicks or dents from careless drivers lol
