Watch the financial broadcasts (CNBC, Bloomberg, etc). Stay away from the pundit stations (which is most of news). The financial networks cover what's happen, cover underlying policy, and generally stays away from advocacy.
NPR is an advocacy station too. The news curation sites also have a slant.

Yowling in the night is a thing- we have had several very old cats and they tended to do this in their later years. We would call to them or go find them. It’s almost like they get lost. For ours it was a mental thing

I have not been to the doctor in 10 years I think. How could you forget what your appointment is for

Or splurge for the dress shields that are hinged and shaped to fit under your arms comfortably. (They are about the same price.)

I can think of a situation ;-) I am a nurse and as a nursing student, I used to play cards in the evenings with two men who needed help with shuffling, dealing and raking points. For those two elderly gentlemen (one of them could only use one arm and he had a special card holder to help him see sort and see his cards), the card game was the highlight of the day. For them, this LPT would have made a not inconsiderable difference.
That's why I gave this a thumbs up, bro.

Don't keep up with news that has no impact in a week. If it is relevant, people will talk about it, so just chat to your neighbors or colleagues. Apart from weather alarms, there's nothing you'd miss out on.

But how does it provide someone with significant life improvement?
We're talking about playing cards.
That's in the sidebar.

Early career, that’s exactly what I did. As I earned more PTO, it became possible to have a summer decompress vacation, then just time to chill (even just 2, maybe 3 days) around holidays.
It can be pretty mind numbing to be at work with no one around. If you depend on other people to get stuff done, even more so.
If you have work you can do on your own, however, it’s a fantastic time to catch up / get ahead without distractions.

The bbc world service does a regular five minute news headlines. Listen to it once a day if you want. If you get yourself a google home you have have it automatically play for you every morning when you wake up.

International IT industry is great. Other countries shut down anything except emergency work the last two weeks, and clients generally aren't that demanding since no ones in the office. Since we can't put in work orders and were not taking work orders it's pretty great.

You also might end up paying more if you are on a rate or special that is no longer offered.
Im not sure if customer loyalty matters at all anymore but it seems pointless to cancel a subscription that you plan to renew right away at the same rate. If you want to try to get a discount you just need to contact the retention department and say your circumstances have changed and you are considering leaving but wanted to see if there were any savings you qualify for before making a final decision
