If you have a regular bartender (or several) in your local watering hole, they're probably hooking you up. A free drink every once in a while, or maybe they forget to add one or two to your tab. Tip them well. A little Christmas bonus can also be a nice gesture that will be well appreciated.

It is what it is. If you don't like it, stay home and drink by yourself in your depression cave.

Haha. I think my accounting terms got in the way. Goodwill = some sort of appreciation.

This. Tipping culture is all about underpaying workers. Their income is not my responsibility, it is their boss who they should be angry with. Demand higher pay from your boss instead of getting mad because of customer tips.

Does "goodwill" (or "good will") on a date translate into a little something something?

Thanks everyone for taking the time to help me out. I appreciate all of your tips! I look forward to taking my bike out when the weather gets warmer, and trying all of your advice out. I’ve definitely been treating Google maps on my phone like a life raft, and it seems I just gotta do like a Jack and let go of the door. Force myself to recognize landmarks, sun location, etc.

That’s a great tip about the sun - much like how our ancestors have navigated. Thank you

I find myself panicking a bit when I get lost, and also getting scared in advance of getting lost (I’m a female). Thank you for that reminder to not be afraid of failure!

Reply to comment by bluemoss_co in LPT: There are places you can contact that will make sure you don’t go homeless, or will get you out of homelessness, which can help you pay rent, utilities, and provide free food. by bluemoss_co
Most do know about them. In fact every homeless person I met while being homeless myself was aware that these services exist. But it's a real lottery thing. Most play but never win. Funds run out fast, women with children, elderly, and disabled people get first priority, there usually isn't anything left after that.
People say help exists and it does, but most people don't get it.

Reply to LPT request : tips when moving to a new house by Laz_Lad
Not sure if your family is buying or renting. But additional move-in considerations include:
getting a locksmith out on the possession date (re-key locks if buying, May not be an option if renting),
arranging for phone/internet on that same day in case it’s not included with apartment utilities)

Use a book and something small to put the weight on a single key; could even have a pen laying on it.

Jar of sauce and some noodles? Just think of what you can get for a steak and a baked potato.
