This is an aside, but I once got billed by the rental car company for New York City tunnel and bridge tolls. I had the car for 48 hours in San Francisco. They were good about waiving the transactions, but still wasted time (and breath) arguing my case. Documenting everything is a good idea. A walk around video showing condition at the time of rental and upon return could save you from false damage claims.

Fucking punch back. One of two things happen. One, they acquiesce and y'all become even better friends, albeit ones who can still rip on each other. Two, they double down, and you realize (unfortunately) that you fucked up because they were never your friends. Which leaves you with fewer friends, sure, but thinking how much life you have left and focus that on surrounding yourself with the right people.

Worried you'll spend a lot of time alone? Face that shit head on and based on your personality (introvert, extrovert), find creative ways to meet new people. Or actually face it and realize that being alone for periods of time is a hallmark of human existence; it doesn't make you special, weak - it makes you boringly "normal."

Good luck OP.

That's why I use condenser washer-dryers that exhaust through the water drain.

They don't ever get "dry", only the clothes. And though they have a filter, it's in a water drain pipe, so it's never dry. Even the rubber-seals that hold onto every piece of sock-fluff, they are wet at the end of the cycle even if the top of the seal is dry, the clothes dry and hot, and the metal drum hot-to-the-touch.

I looked at "normal" dryers that have those huge air-vents that clog with inches of dry lint in hot air and said "Nope".

Condenser washer-dryers is the way to go. One pipe with water in, one pipe with water + waste out. No vents, no dry air, no dry lint filters, nowhere for lint to collect and heat up.

This right there! Learning to stand up against abusers is very useful, I wouldn’t drop the friends directly as it can be a useful learning situation. Best case senario you stand up for yourself and they change their behaviors, second best, they don’t change but you now have the confidence to not take abuse and the next friends you make are gonna respect you.
