Also as others said: no grease down the sink, have a spare key in the car or with someone you trust, document everything, and if any issues come up, deal with them immediately. Like if you see a leak or smell something funky, contact the landlord and then follow up regularly until they deal with it.

I buy all my earrings from pawn shops to eBay, so thankfully it hasn’t been an awful lesson - but I need to get stuff that’s even cheaper. I usually get gold, and I can get solid gold earrings often for $100 or less.

I’m allergic to nickel and other metals, and I can’t even tolerate sterling silver which drives me nuts because there are some really lovely looking cheaper options that are sterling.

I also have 2 helixes annd a daith but those have the little ball things that pretty much make the jewelry solid lol. It’s just my lobe ones which are the more typical jewelry that keep getting lost!!

I second thing. Do not blow money on nice kitchenware things for your first apartment while you’re in school. They will just break and then even if they don’t they have to be carted around to your next place. Go to Good Will and buy mix and match kitchen stuff. Recycling at its finest.

Buy an old person's cart. Often you are carrying groceries boxes etc from downstairs or parking garage or just moving recycling or garbage and it will save so many trips. They fold up and store in little space but will come in very handy.

Another tip for drivers that I see all the time is people not switching from their car’s automatic lights to “lights on” option. Many car’s rear running lights don’t work in automatic so obviously dangerous while driving at night or bad weather conditions.
