Just use a holder and put on Waze. That shit never lies. It's definitely ahead of what the news is reporting. I don't even listen to the news anymore for traffic broadcasts since the app is pretty much live. The only thing it's not good at is if there is new construction that hasn't been detected yet.

Many years ago, Russian hackers were able to use a an old version of Adobe Acrobat to completely back door your computer. In fact, they could then use your computer/IP to hack other people. I.e. all you had to do, was just not update the program and you were completely vulnerable.

If there’s any software I would avoid pirating, it’s adobe. They (hackers) know many businesses use the adobe suite of products, and so concentrate a lot of effort onto cracking old and pirated versions of the same. It wouldn’t surprise me if they themselves pirated for the purpose of sending out Trojans malware into the world.

I check CBC and NPR once a week to keep up. I also glance at Canadian and US political subs briefly each day. Only ever written articles, never audio or video. I think i have a healthy relationship with the news, but i do know there are plenty of people who fall into the fear/anger trap and are glued to it through most of their free time.

It sounds like you’re making great progress! I find that making learning the language fun and convenient has kept me at it for years. Here are some ideas:

  • Change your smart-phone’s language
  • For a video game or fandom you like, join a discord group or some kind of other online group in the target languages.
  • Explore pop music in the language you’re learning and sing along! The repetition of new words in songs will help you learn them!
  • find an show or YouTuber that discusses a topic that interests you in the language
  • Watch some “Easy French” YouTube videos that have fun and interesting street interviews
  • If you like reading and you’re very familiar with the language, you can find “parallel text” books with short stories in French on one page and English on the other.

Most of all, don’t be hard on yourself! Hope this helps!

The point of waxing is so you don’t have to trim it constantly. As long as you’re not jamming it way in there and just getting the bits closest to the outside you’ll be fine while still preserving the hairs in the canal that do the ever important work we take for granted.
