Plan, prep, and execute. I measure out and prep every ingredient ahead of time possible. I plan out my utensil usage, and I clean as I cook.
I’m also a perfectionist and I strive for absolute maximum efficiency in everything I do. It’s a blessing and a curse.

Well OP that would depend on your situation. Who are the family members that aren’t getting along? Being a parent with fighting children is quite different from being a child with fighting parents.

Haha. I keep some hot soapy water in the sink and just quickly handwash stuff as I cook, even though I have a dishwasher. It’s super-fast. :-)

Throw everything in the sink! Dishes are a “full” me problem, not a “nibbling on cheese while waiting for the chicken to cook” me problem. I cannot read my own hunger cues 😬

You inevitably put a spoon or a measuring cup or something else in the dishwasher that you then need again.

Unironically- gentle parenting techniques. Try not to be infantilizing of course, but most of the time (for me at least) conflict arose because person A never stopped to think how person B would feel, and person B felt too shitty about whatever person A did to bring up the fact that A upset B. Being a toddler mediator works wonders.

To add:
Free up your sink and dishwasher before you start cooking.
Prep as many ingredients as you can ahead of time.
Plan out your utensil usage. If you know what measuring cups, tongs, pots, knives, etc you will need, get them out before you start.
Then as you’re done with things you can wipe/rinse and toss into the dishwasher, and after dinner the remaining dishes can be loaded and ran. Nobody needs to spend an hour cleaning after a good meal, relax and enjoy the evening.
Me and my spouse cook a LOT plus we have a kid. We run our dishwasher daily if not twice daily. In the summer when we host gatherings and have heavy BBQing days it makes cleanup so much easier to plan a little ahead.
