Can confirm, because I think Confucius was an ass whose only claim to fame is as a proto-structural functionalist and I blame him personally for the toxicity in cultural norms surrounding school, work and the family in East Asia today.

I'm not sure what you mean by that. The info from the forms that we get from our investments go into specific irs forms. We take standard deduction since we don't have enough things to itemize and get more (we have looked into it). I'm sure for people who have their own business or donate loads, it is very different from our situation. But I would be grateful to you if you're able to tell me how to get more money back from the irs when you have investment accounts with fidelity or vanguard and employer sponsored retirement accounts that adjust at the source.

You are leaving out context.

We can discuss a variety of situations, but if you're sitting at your desk trying to get work done and your workmate, who shouldn't be socializing, constantly badges you to do their work for them, you need to draw a line in the sand.

There certainly are people like that, but it could be other things like they are trying to get more social interaction in their life, or it’s just not a habit of theirs to look things up on their own.

I moved across the US a year ago for a job and I did find myself more likely to ask little things than I do know as I developed a better social life outside of work. I agree that smaller hints like you suggest with asking about what Google says in a kind tone could help push them in a good direction.

It's really not that expensive? I work for a CPA, we're charging $150 this year for a return, h&r block is a bit cheaper but they hire people basically off the street and give them basic training, so taking your taxes to h&r is the equivalent of taking it to a high school student who just finished a business course and learned the basics of filing

I've been doing this to practice my italian. Assassins creed 2 has been great for it as well as skyrim.

Skyrim is especially helpful because there's so much contextual learning without translating. For example you see and apple, the game calls it a "mela" the word apple never appears so you directly associate the image of 🍎 with "mela" without ever translating it to english.

Combined with duolingo and some books I think my Italian is coming along pretty well.
