Definitely NOT what OP thinks.

OP thinks that this will help ward off predatory men.

Some men subscribe to the notion that women without their fathers in their lives have weaker boundaries with men and/or are unconsciously seeking their father’s approval in their relationships.

OP thinks that demonstrating a positive relationship with your father will signal to these kinds of men that you are a “harder target” and not worth pursuing.

OP has yet to realize that actually having and maintaining boundaries long enough to build trust is the real solution to this problem.

I'll add that lot of unpaid museum docents are retired. (because who else has that kind of time?) For bonus points, find the very oldest docent you can and they might tell you some really interesting stuff.

Great tip! You can also attach the resume and cover letter you used to apply to the email (assuming you customise both per application - which if you're not, you should be).

Personally I use a version of this to manage my own job applications and recommend dumping it all in your <cloud file storage solution of choice>. Each application gets a new folder (organised by year of application) with a copy of the PD (incl. salary, etc.), CV, and cover letter used to apply.

Makes it super easy to apply for similar jobs in the future too, just make a copy of the old application and update with different key words.
