Completely agree with this advice. And, relatedly, conform the description of your education and experience to what the company says it's looking for, both to help with any automated screening the company is using and to help illustrate to HR and the hiring manager your fit with the role.

It was amazing, loved most of the people there too and I was a pretty good player but I understand you obviously have to make sacrifices sometimes.

Someone posted how you should write down things down in order to not forget them and it got thousands of up votes... This sub seems to be more about "obvious things that maybe you should pay more attention to" than it is about actual life pro tips.

Next time there's a pause, ask a follow up question, or a general question about the other person, then wait and let them respond. Ask more questions, make less statements.

I’ve always thought of a Bachelors of Arts degree as a stepping stone to get into another degree? What kind of jobs are out there for a B.Arts Degree? I’m also assuming that the employers are looking at your work experience to suit the job

Why would googling “eusnsnaiah7837” put your email address or password on a list? You aren’t googling your email address, only your password. Passwords are no good if you don’t have the username. If it pulls up your email address AND your password then you’re already on a list.

Reply to comment by NjelsPjelsGVD in [LPT] Do not buy a gift card if it comes with same value as the money that was paid for it. by an0nym0us11
Exactly. It is so much easier to buy my nephew a Roblox gift card or an *insert console system* gift card. Depending on where you live, it can also be illegal for these gift cards to lose their money (California is an example). If the person you replied to is unable to use all of the gift cards they acquire, that sounds like a personal issue.

Just took our kid to the family practice a couple weeks back when she was sick, cough/congested low grade fever about 100 deg.
Friggin doctor was all like "I would have sent my kid to school like this. Things have changed since Covid" Like WTF??? This is not some rural backwater town but a well to do suburb..
I get not keeping kids out of school many days, getting germs to build immune system etc but I don't want to be the asshole who sends a coughing, snotting, feverish kid into a classroom of 30 kids and the teacher. That is a real dick move doing that.

LinkedIn is usually behind the actual company site and many times just auto renewing roles if the company doesn't take them down. Chances are they may already have plenty of resumes to review or are weeks/month+ out of date.
Use LinkedIn as just one method to find roles that you may fit and then go to the actual company website jobs/career section and apply there instead if the position is not too old.

Best bet with LinkedIn job postings is to take the company name and go directly to their website and apply through a career’s page or get a contact for that supervisor and email them directly with resume or follow up. I like to think of LinkedIn as a middle man to get me the needed info and then i do additional searching from there. Good luck!

As a public librarian, I can tell you that it's more than once I have had a child tell me "I'm too sick to go to school, so mommy/daddy brought me here!"
I remember once having a kid come in, spend 3 hours playing around on a number of our public computers, then tell us that he has pinkeye on the way out the door.
You'd think people would know better. They don't.

If you can see someone, see someone. The thing is that depression is kind of like having a cold or the flu. Sometimes it's not so bad, you can muddle through for a bit and do home remedies like working out or meditation until you feel better. But sometimes it IS bad, and you cant stop coughing for weeks or it turns in to pneumonia and you need to see a doctor, or you can die from it.
Depression is not a state - it's a spectrum and a lot of people forget that there's no shame in treating it early before it gets worse, or just seeing a doctor to make sure its a mild sort. But stuff like "oh just exercise" is maybe helpful or not, in the same way that "just get some rest and eat chicken noodle soup" is helpful, but doesnt necessarily fix a bad case of the flu. And it sounds like you could use a person to talk this out with in terms of WHY youre so miserable and if you're truly still interested in your future goals and plans and whether you're in a bit of a sea change where your body already knows its not doing the right thing and your mind hasn't caught up yet.
Im sending you energy and strength and a complete lack of shame - its really really normal to deal with what youre dealing with right now

Windshields are covered by insurance. Pitted windows are a hazard for driving in bright sunlight. Taking out a windshield makes sense. The pitted one is replaced by a new one. Making for a safer ride.

Reply to LPT Request: What is your pro tip to help me clear all the fear of failure and doubts from my mind and become confident and self - disciplined? by captain_hardon
Without failure, learning is not possible. It's the lessons we learn from them that make us better. One thing that has always helped me is starting small. Set a goal and do not try to take it all on at once, otherwise you will get discouraged and give up. Like if you want to be able to do a 5K do not just go sign up for one. Go for a 5 min walk, then a 10..15.. and so on. Good luck.

You make it sound like as soon as you pass your test, that's it. You stop learning. When in reality, when you pass your test and start driving alone is when you really begin learning to drive.
Also, I didn't say the minimum at all, Not a single mention of the word minimum. Your entire comment is a write off.

You are basically being asked if you want your bank to do the conversion to the foreign currency (by paying in the foreign currency) or let the merchant’s bank do it. 99% of the time, your bank will give a better rate.
