Hmmm I came up with this to avoid offending people by implying that all or most of a certain group of people are a certain way because usually that's not true

Dam good idea. I'm going to try that next time I'm in this situation. I occasionally use 3M transfer adhesive, basically it is like two sided tape without the tape. It is an adhesive that you peel one side off install where and how you want, rub int in good, and then peel the other side. It is very very thin, and fragile, and very sticky

This right here. The reality is if you just tell the AMZ customer service rep that you are disappointed (in a nice way), have a reasonable reason for your disappointment (ex. lost shipment caused a bday gift to arrive late), and ask for a voucher ($10 only) they are authorized to give it to you to keep you happy. No reason to be a jerk.

Elon Musk is no longer the richest person in the world. Since we're supposed to automatically hate whoever the richest person in the world is, I was just clearing that up so that people can hate the right person.

Maybe the better LPT here is to not be a jerk to any Customer support agent. They’re humans too, usually very nice people and it all works out better when you have a nice conversation

Ditto. Especially since the person you are speaking to is almost never the person who made the mistake.
You ask me for help or tell me you screwed up and I'll move mountains. You get on the phone with a crappy attitude, blaming me, and I'll try to help but I'm not calling in any favors.

If it's all plastic maybe dip a corner in water, adhesive might depolymerize.
