Reply to LPT request: Can anyone give me a couple ideas or things to try, that might alleviate some of the guilt and shame I (28F) feel? by magdeedz
Seems counter intuitive at first, but stop being selfish. Your guilt is your empathy, it is part of living as a simian. But it is there to inspire you to DO better. DO things for others. Don't think so hard about it. From a social standpoint, we are our actions. So DO things that help others. Since you can't change the past, make the future brighter for others. Volunteers are needed everywhere, and NGOs are organized to utilize your help. Be regular about it (like every weekend). Find a local group that is directly helping people and pitch in.

The main thing i would advise is: go do the things you couldn't because of your sport. I had to drop out if high performance track because of an injury. It took me a while to get over it. But in the end i found joy in meeting with people more often, having game nights and things like that. But also having the time to work on myself as a person. You can develop and use the skills you learned from sports and use them in your working career. I did stay a bit active though, training twice a week and coaching kids at the local track, but that has to be something you like to do.

Reply to LPTR: I get disproportionately angry whenever somebody in my immediate family does something wrong and always end up regretting my reaction. how can I control myself in the moment? by roastedpepper17
It's rare for a person to go from 0 to 100 over a single incident.
Some continuing situation in your life is keeping you at 99 at all times and then a minor irritation with your family pushes you over the edge every time.
Find a good therapist and start unpacking whatever it is that's keeping your anger on the edge of explosion. Do it soon because one by one, your close people will start deciding you're not worth the trouble and will begin distancing themselves from you.

Doesn’t work well if you have big dogs that play hard.
AirTag went missing. Found in poop from other dog.

>You need to get a towel and put it on the opposite side of the fabric, get the bottle of hydrogen peroxide and pour some onto the stain, and dab with another towel.
To add to this, the stain can bleed (woops there's a pun) into the towel you use so use something appropriately colored or that you don't care if it gets stained.

Baking soda and lemon juice (use real lemons). Gently rub in and rinse, rub in and rinse. Over and over. Takes a little while if it’s an old blood stain. But works I promise.

If you really care about this, then you as a consumer should boycott all restaurants that don't pay a living wage instead of stiffing the lowest paid workers on the totem pole of their gratuity.
Put your money where your mouth is unless you want to sound like a hypocrite

So you're selfish, why didn't you say that to begin with. No one would have wasted their time trying to get you to act like a decent human being if we knew that up front.

If you feel strongly about this, it is on you to seek out restaurants where employees are paid decently. They do exist, even in the US and Canada, and it’s on you to figure that out or eat at home.

A tiny drop of dishwasher liquid, mixed with peroxide (easily available at your local pharmacy/drugstore), apply to stain, let it sit for 10 min, rinse, then wash your sheets Normally.

If you believe this, please touch grass lol. If they had to pay a livable wage the $15 burger you scarf down with your $7 beer would quickly turn into a $25 burger and $12 beer to make it affordable for the restaurant to pay all of their servers and bartenders a livable wage. Tip your servers and Bartenders 20% and stop being cheap.

Ice cube, paper towel and elbow grease. It's more of an immediate-response solution but it does work surprisingly well on blood. I sold a couch to a friend and they had no clue there was a sex-induced period stain hiding in its history.
