Sure, you want to think about it philosophically like that. But a lot of people simply dont have the options available to them. Ive gotta keep doing what im doing, theres no plan B. I cant go do something else. People who "fail" at something, well, basically they dont have any other choice but to move on to plan B. Plan A doesnt exist anymore.

We’ve done something similar but also very different. We have kept our own accounts, but the money is very much ‘ours’ regardless of which account it’s in.

But we are privileged to not worry too much about money and both have a reasonably similar approach to money and value-for-money.

Eta: I appreciate all the useful info! For ages I've kept the same three active gmail accounts: one personal, one business/"official", and one for subscriptions, lists, throw-away sign-ups, etc. The lines are starting to blur, though; these tips will help reorganize. Thanks everyone.
