Wow, a rare actually great and wide-ranging tip.

These gems are the best thing about this sub, the exact opposite of "clean your lawnmower more easily with this complex and unnecessary trick" or something else oddly specific yet unhelpful.

Yes, I agree. Maybe just reiterate what OP said in private. Without making a big scene, saying something like "Hey, you're doing that thing again where you're making it seem like you're one upping me, and you're making me feel diminished." There's really nothing to say to that, depending on their reaction, it'll show you whether to cut this person off or not

If Dawn dish soap doesn't work (and it's pretty darn good) then get a bottle of Lestoil. It's a cleaner like PineSol, but pinesol won't work for this, only Lestoil. Just put some Lestoil on the grease spot then throw it in the wash like normal.

It may smell a bit like Lestoil when it comes out of the washer but after it dries there is no smell left. It is sold at Home Depot and sometimes Walmart, in the cleaning products section. It has gotten out set-in oily stains on clothes that I thought were ruined forever!

Videotape yourself in the post office putting the check in the envelope, sealing it, handing it to the worker, paying for its certified delivery, and your receipt. That's the only way I can see that you can prove the rent was mailed.

Maybe there's a service where you can transfer the money and someone can hand deliver a check to the landlord. Then that service could vouch that it was delivered if the landlord says it wasn't. Like a service that delivers court papers.

Managing the pain is sometimes harder than the pain itself - you're already dealing with the sting of being left out, why internalize and negatively self evaluate? So you were left out, you can't surely say for a good, bad or what type of reason and so, I suggest being a bit nicer with yourself and entertain the multitude of reasons that aren't negative.

Imo, it's a workplace setting and should be treated professionally. I would carry on and direct that emotional investment into something that has growth potential.
