This. What your describing is overt fraud which gets argued in court. Create evidence of the transaction and send certified mail. There is no arguing with that.

I always get into fights with people like that so I don't even try to be friends with them.

THIS! I scrolled through a lot of 'dish soap' comments to see if anyone said chalk. It works! Baby powder does, too. Plain white chalk works well, though!

True- my friends in Korea do the opposite to get in good graces. I should have said IN USA….

It depends on the countries and cultures. In Asian countries, this is the best way to get into the good book of your boss.

Say "its not a competition", or tell them, sincerely or otherwise, that "in life, when someone mentions an achievement, its common courtesy to not immediately talk about yourself". Make them look socially mal-adjusted and they may realise that the attention they get from their one-upping is not of admiration, but of mild disgust.

And if possible, don’t dry the item till your sure the spot is gone. The dryer will set the stain making it difficult to get out.

You’re doing it right. Bring the water to a boil, then add salt. I would put both the salt and pasta right next to the pot as u wait for it to boil. ALWAYS salt your pasta water, no matter what the box says.

Put a reminder in a visible area from your kitchen stove.
I have a small whiteboard in my kitchen where I wrote, "PUT OIL IN PAN BEFORE COOKING/BAKING!"
I'm forgetful by nature. I still sometimes forget to put oil in the pan, but it rarely happens now.

White chalk and stain stick. I’ve saved a couple items with this magic duo. Rub a liberal amount of chalk over the stained area, the chalk helps to pull the grease out of the fibers of the clothing. Apply stain stick or spray n wash when ready to throw in the washing machine.
If you’ve already washed them and ran them through the dryer, the stain is set.

The amount of salt needed to increase the boiling point of water by any significant degree would make your pasta taste terrible. When you strain though, make sure you save some pasta water to add later. This adds much more flavor

Reply to LPT: Lots of kids are encouraged to dream big. Don't let this become a shackle in adult life, feeling you never fulfilled your "potential." Those dreams were a way to energize you to learn, practice, and focus. They are rarely realistic and don't take into account the complexities of real life. by zazzlekdazzle
I needed this. It’s a good reminder too to not let your job become tied to your self worth or define your personality.

Reply to comment by RPoliticsModsFU in LPT - Don't know if it's less or fewer? 'Fewer' is a more precise word than "less". Say the sentence in your head, and try "fewer" first. Generally speaking, if that word fits, it is correct. by RPoliticsModsFU
You can't have fewer of something that can't be counted. You can't have one sand or ten water. So for those you have to say less. If you can count it, then you should say fewer rather than less.
Teaching kids this stuff isn't a priority so many people never learn the rules.

Why do you need to put salt on boiling water?
If the thing I'm boiling needs salted I usually put it in the bottom of the pot before I pour the boiling water in anyway.
