Yeah like what the fuck does “you also Avery the risk of the cat behind you making yours fun-sized” mean ???? I’m so confused.

Reply to LPT: Lots of kids are encouraged to dream big. Don't let this become a shackle in adult life, feeling you never fulfilled your "potential." Those dreams were a way to energize you to learn, practice, and focus. They are rarely realistic and don't take into account the complexities of real life. by zazzlekdazzle
I wish someone would’ve told me this a long time ago.
For my entire childhood and into my college life, my parents always had this mentality. While I don’t believe it’s inherently a bad thing, I do realize now that it constantly kept me feeling like I wasn’t doing enough, achieving enough, and that I was never in the right place in life. Especially since I have an older sibling who DID make it big pretty much as soon as she finished college and now makes 6-figure income.
As I wrap up my 20’s, I’ve come to accept that my life is my own, it’s not a race, and the most important thing is my own happiness. Coincidentally, my parents have been on my ass about such things way less since accepting this.

100% True. It goes beyond deer. Anything that is driving in front a vehicle has made a Darwinian choice. Unless it is a very heavy animal (moose, cow, etc.) hit it and forgive yourself later. One of my siblings flipped a car in order to avoid a rabbit one time. Very dumb decision.
Deer are big, stupid animals that look good in movies, taste bad when you eat them, and cause billions in car damage. Humans eliminated most of their predators and provided them (in the MidWest) with endless buffet of grain. Fuck 'em.

Brake as long and hard as you can, but If you are going to hit it, get off the brakes a good second before you do. That raises the front of your car and lowers the chance of it crashing through your windshield.

Same! I created my email as first ame.lastname and There’s three other people who use firstnamelastname. One from from my own country but different state, one from the UK, and one from Australia. The foreign get doctor appointment reminders fairly often. Why aren’t they missing them?

This isn't a LPT, this is literally the rule of what to do. This is what your driving instructor teaches you and this is what the government tells you to.
This isn't a pro tip Just like stopping at a red light isn't a pro tip.

I had the V1 from very early days. It wasn’t flawless but it was easy enough to use for my spouse, and worked with most email clients which proton does not.

Oohhh, I thought you were calling Proton a “dead helm”, not just naming another service. Got it.
Yeah I wish Helm survived. I was so close to pulling that trigger when it was announced.

https://www.thehelm.com/ Helm used to be a turnkey self hosted email service. https://proton.me/mail Proton is a privacy focused (still work with LE for criminal investigations) email service.

Reply to LPT Request - how to respond to people who constantly try to one-up you and diminish your accomplishments? by idkifik
I have a coworker who does this and I’ve found saying ‘oh neat…’ is the perfect response. It’s positive, but only slightly. And if you use it repetitively it will become very obvious you don’t give a shit, but you’ll never get called on it.
I had a great weekend. I hung out with a friend and we went out to dinner.
Oh cool. Yeah I got out all the time. This weekend I went to this crazy place that’s super hard to get into. We got right in. It was awesome.
Oh…neat…
Works every time

Agree with them immediately and every time without fail that their problems are far worse and accomplishments unquestionably more superior. Have tried and often highlights the ridiculousness of the situation.
Edit: spelling

Reply to everything they say with “wow!”, “good for you!”, and the like. Don’t initiate a topic or build on their last statement; let the air suck up whatever’s left.

Mine too, back when I created my email I just thought they were a special character like many others... it's caused me some headaches as my email now is sometimes accused of being invalid.
