ITT: I guess no one has this problem, which is why there is zero market for magnets and decals to indicate the status of the dishwasher.
Fwiw, I do exactly what you do with the soap. Glad I'm not the only one.

There won't be steam because it doesn't get that hot but can you educate me on what you mean?

I would absolutely service my own HVAC. The only reason I wouldn't put a new engine in my car, is because I don't have access to a lift to lift the engine up, and that would likely make the price difference.
Recently a pipe burst due to a freeze, and I learned how to drill out a messed up pipe when it couldnt be cut off, and attach PVC to ABS and install a new valve. Good as new, and only cost me some time and a trip to the hardware store.
Oftentimes, you can buy the tools of the trade for less than you'd spend on the labor for one visit. And the best part is that you get to keep the tools to save even more money next time, plus you gain the knowledge to help yourself and others.
It's not about "being taught", it's about being willing to teach yourself. You don't need to go to trade school to get rid of mice or work on electronics. You just need to be willing to roll up your sleeves. It pays off in the long run.

Yes, we wait until the sink is full before unloading/loading/running the dishwasher

Do you wait until you have a load of dishes before loading? I try to load as I use them. In a household of 2, it may be a few days before we have enough to run the dishwasher.

You literally said before that it was unrealistic to clean it after every use

I rinse my dishes off before putting them in the dishwasher. If the dishes have been in there long enough to dry (e.g. overnight), they can visually appear to be unsoiled.
Enough people have this concern that there is a market for magnets and such to put on the dishwasher to indicate whether they are clean or dirty.

I've done this but I've always wondered if this wouldn't reduce the lifespan of the pan, given that once you poured cold water into the hot pan the sudden change of temperature will affect it. As far as I remember even some non stick pans have that warning in the packaging.

I’m not arguing it’s unrealistic. Just that most people don’t do it. Of course I’d clean up spills or anything of that sort right away.

when I lived with my parents I use to hear scratching in my walls all the time. I'd call for my parents and it would go away. happened for years, they thought I was lying or something. then one day I hear like really loud scratching. I hollar at my mom to come in, and I point to the wall and I'm like "LOOK ITS REAL!" and then out bursts a fucking squirrel from the dry wall in the bathroom! it's running around scared, my mom is screaming for my dad, my cat's chasing it around, it escapes into my bedroom. everyone's freaking out!
my dad caught and released the squirrel in the end and had to pay thousands of dollars to get the wall fixed. he has burrowed through like one whole wall from a small hole in the shingles. I still remember when they opened my wall from the inside and like 20 acorns and shit fell out. lmao.

Infrared may suck in comparison to induction, but it's still better than traditional electric (with the big fat exposed coils) in my experience.
Neither traditional electric nor infrared is very good at providing a lot of heat. However, infrared adjusts very quickly and heats more evenly, and it's way easier to clean.

I know my dishwasher is clean because it’s only dirty for the 5 minutes it takes me to load it.

I definitely don't think that's neat freak behaviour. It's just unhygienic to let food residue build up on a kitchen surface. And whether it's something you do or don't do you cannot argue that it's unrealistic.

I think most people, including myself, do not see the stovetop as something that needs to be cleaned after every use. Sure there are neat freaks, but I think I’m in the majority.

Stuff still evaporates and can condense on the walls over time.

Does it light up red? Does it get warm without a pot on it? Then it's maybe an infrared one, and those suck, but not as hard as resistance heaters.

Most of us weren't taught. It's insane what some people are unwilling to try though. I used to do handyman work and got paid $50 to swap out light switch covers in a room once. Which is fine, I mean easy money. But there are YouTube videos for everything, including swapping out motors and working on HVAC.

The stove in your apartment is likely to be a flat-top, infrared stove. This is not the same as a true induction stove.
Infrared stoves are far cheaper and suck Satan gonads.

Yes, but they're both terrible at heat management. Their elements are either off or surface of the sun hot with no in between.
