The stronger the chemical, the less scrubbing needed. The most effective thing would be something like EZ-off oven cleaner (sodium hydroxide solution if you're not in US). You should be able to spray, let it sit, and wipe off, but make sure you wear rubber gloves as it can burn bare skin. If you don't like strong chemicals, I've heard people use baking soda+water, barkeepers friend, dawn dish soap, lemon juice, or vinegar. Other brands/types of oven cleaner/degreaser would fall somewhere in between the above two options, they don't vary too much apart from special cases like the EZoff

It also begs the question of who this concern is coming from.

Has OP's partner expressed issues with stuff not getting done in the evenings, or does OP feel anxiety about their productivity tanking once their partner comes home?

For my two cents, as long as the critical tasks are getting done, the child is having their needs met, and the relationship is happy, it's okay for both partners to slow down in the evenings and enjoy some recharge time.

Keeping a grind-set mentality and always stressing about the next thing that needs to get done is a fast track to burnout.A few tasks getting delayed is better than mentally crashing and none of them getting done.

I used to do the same; basically just eating whenever I'm bored. I started counting calories by inputting everything I eat into an app on my phone. I've found that just knowing how many calories are in the things I eat and the act of logging those in my phone makes me stop and think about what I'm about to eat. I've been holding myself to 1800 calories per day (along with exercise), and I've lost about 20 lbs in the last 2 months 😃

Are you eating because you’re hungry or because of stress/boredom/emotional situation?

When you are hungry, distract yourself for 15 minutes. Do anything to take your mind somewhere else. If you’re still hungry then your body is telling you to eat and just make smart choices. But often we eat for other reasons mentally so redirecting the mind helps that.

I hate cleaning when my husband is home. He always wants to throw in his two cents and can't understand why I don't appreciate his advice. Or he will say he is working and can't I do something else? I have been the primary housecleaner for over 25 years, so he can stfu.
