Also, I have to add, maybe I do have a better situation than some or most, I didn’t start here….I am just repeating what I have done in my career to get here.

Just because at first glance it doesn’t fit, doesn’t mean it’s bad stupid advice as someone else said.

It takes work, but dammit, it’s fulfilling for once and I’m proof that it works, even if it takes time

Before I used this method I used a piece of paper between each piece. Using this method I use a piece of paper for every two pieces. So that is how I am using less paper.

If I have two pieces left over, I use no paper.

I am not saying take on more responsibility for responsibility sake. I’m saying, take on responsibilities for yourself.

Want to learn excel? Spend browsing time making something that will make your job easier…does your company have excel training courses? Take them

I’m saying, use the time you’re stuck there to better yourself…that’s it…pretty simple concept that I think were trained to overlook

Bide your time, make the paycheck while you research companies…do things that YOU want to do because it makes YOU better…who cares if the company benefits in the short term

This is all about an individual making themselves better…they’re not going to pay you what they owe you, probably, use them until you can move on

It’s like a coach that works at a stepping stone team…make the most of it and move on

Edit: there’s this mentality of, “my job sucks, fuck them”. Ok, that’s fine, but that doesn’t mean there aren’t opportunities to better yourself along the way

Gut reaction is: “that will never work and here’s why”….I know those words, they were my mantra for years

Change the way you think, which isn’t easy, but it’s possible

Sure, I agree. But so are many other things designed to be addictive and while they can be bad and there are bad sides to these things, they are not entirely a bad thing, in my opinion. Social media has created businesses, keeps people connected across the world etc etc. Of course people are different and for some it is better to “quit” whatever said thing is, but is that entirely said thing’s fault? No.

Seems kinda irrelevant when going to the same barber because your barber isn't going to perfectly so your hair the exact same every time. They're not automated robots, they're human beings. Sometimes your fade will be ever so slightly higher than last time. Sometimes you'll still have fuzzy hair on your neck because they forgot to shave it off for you.

I feel like you have a different experience than most people. A common result of taking on more responsibility is that you get more work with the same pay. Then your expectations go up, and your perceived performance goes down. Greedy assholes and shitty management won't provide resources and opportunities to better the lives of their employees; that's why they are greedy and shitty.

My counter advice is to find a place you don't hate, work at a comfortable pace to avoid burnout, and seek opportunities in your free time. The best way to progress your career and increase wages is to move to a new employer.

Putting the pizza upside down, the next piece upside up, then paper, saves you a piece of paper for every two pieces. If you go upside up for all pieces, you use a piece of paper for every piece, except the last one. This method saves on paper.

I'll post more detail in the next tip.

I like using a washable plastic or glass container instead of zip locks to reduce single use plastic waste.

Aluminum foil can take advantage of this method also, you can wrap two pieces together stacked bread-to-bread.

Pizza dries out if left in the box. I find the toppings stay on the pizza and don't stick to the bottom of the container. If stacked toppings up, the toppings do stick to the bottom of the above piece. With bread-side to bread-side, there are no toppings to stick to anything. The wax paper, or parchment paper, keeps the toppings from sticking to each other.

This method minimizes paper usage by taking advantage of the bread to bread arrangement.

USAA is one of the worst insurance companies I deal with. I represent injured persons and USAA makes everything so difficult for their own insureds. I get it being difficult for "the other guy" but when your lawyer has to sue just to get the no-fault medical payments (Medpay or PIP) it is terrible service. I've dealt with many insurance companies and USAA is at the top of my list of "never have for yourself".
