Reply to comment by PJP2810 in LPT: 30 min lunch break? Schedule for X:15 or X:45 so ppl don't schedule meetings. by MiKeMcDnet
People don't even check FREE / BUSY where I work... If it fit's their schedule, fuck you. I work 7:30A - 4:00P and people constantly schedule me for 4:00, 4:30, 5:00 meetings. I'll put up with some at 4:00, I'll just come in 30 minutes late that day as I have to be on the 8:00A status call (which is border on useless).

Take all the classes you can with passing grades and graduate as fast as humanly possible is the best financial advice I can give you.

I tried to reverse this to find my hourly wage based off annual salary. It came pretty close, but was about $1.50 too high.
I’m guessing that has something to do with not taking the 2 weeks into consideration.

Why don’t you just move your break to be wholly before or after; or tell them you won’t be at the meeting?

But do I take a photo when it's freshly cut and slightly lopsided, when it grows a tad and hits the Goldilocks 'just right' phase that I typically forget about my hair, or when it's long unkempt and desperately in need of attention?

Turn the ignition on but not the engine. Watch for the lights, all should come on. If not, do not buy because that says it been tampered with.

Check and make sure the oil looks like oil, or black, but not milky (coffee with creamer look).

While in park, shift gears and watch for any delay. That will tell you if your transmission is bad

Look at all the tires. If they have put a complete set and not mismatched, this tells you they take care of the car
look at the coolant. Is it water or is it actual coolant? If its coolant, they take care of their car

I do this and it works great. Just moved to a new city and got the same cut.
I also like to say "#2 clippers on the sides, and about 1 inch long on the top." That helps clarify a few things.
Granted my haircut is simple, but showing a photo really helps.

My barber speaks a different language than me. This is how we communicate. I show him a picture of my haircut. He nods and says "same?" I say yes. Then he gestures to ask how my baby is doing. I tell him how old she is now and show some vids and pics. He always smiles. I hope to have him around for a long time.

Reply to comment by Littlemonster93 in LPT: tips for first time car buyer to avoid being taken advantage of? by Littlemonster93
Hi, sorry for the delayed reply.
This might not be applicable to you, but in the U.S., all vehicles have a Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), and it’s in multiple places on the vehicle. For some reason, dealerships try to sell you this service where they etch (scratch/write) the VIN into the glass on each of your windows. They claim this is a window theft deterrent, but I don’t think it really is. I’ve also never in my 43 years of life heard anybody complain about having had their windows stolen.
They also try to sell you on paint sealant on the exterior of your vehicle. Or at least they used to - I’ve purchased 11 vehicles in my time, but haven’t gotten one in the past 5 years, so they may not. In my opinion, the paint that manufacturers use is good enough and an extra sealant isn’t beneficial.
Both of these services are pretty expensive, and the finance people will often really pressure you to buy them. I’ve actually gone into their offices with my own financing before, and been like, “Hi, it’s nice to meet you. I’m glad the deal is all negotiated. I’m not buying window etching or sealant, so please don’t try to sell it to me.” It’s worked so far.

tried and they still failed. like i gave you 5 angles and still managed to not do what i asked for. havent gotten my hair professionally cut in over 4 years bc they always fuck it up. id rather DIY and ruin my own hair than spend 80$ for someone else to fuck it up

Reply to LPT: Take your adopted animals from shelters straight to a vet as soon as possible. by bcurtiswx
Great point! And many shelters and rescues actually have partnerships with local clinics to offer free first visits! Also please update your other pets' vaccines and consider quarantining new pets post-adoption to limit risk of spread of disease. Open intake shelters are wonderful but especially currently, are often very crowded. Overcrowding can stress animals which can subsequently decrease immune function increasing risk of spread of disease.
