Isn't it a rather basic principle to be conservative when making financial estimates? We're not necessarily talking two weeks of vacation, it could be two weeks worth of emergencies and sickness spread throughout the year.

No, your point is what’s unhealthy. Many people are pressured into sex with their boss out of fear that they will be fired, not promoted, etc. Simply because they say “yes” to sex, that doesn’t make the coercion of that relationship go away. Same with a professor and student.

No. Both people must give consent. Full stop. Telling people they are actually somewhat powerless in their sexual relationships is bad advice and unhealthy.

Reply to LPT: 30 min lunch break? Schedule for X:15 or X:45 so ppl don't schedule meetings. by MiKeMcDnet
My SO is supposed to get a 60 minute lunch (30 paid/30 unpaid).
He has 2 supervisors. One constantly schedules meetings at 12 and the other at 1. Neither ever checks if it's convenient, they just put it on his calendar. And neither ever checks if that means he won't get his lunch break. He's constantly taking 20 minutes here and 20 minutes there and having to come back early. I don't think he gets his full 60 minute break more than once a week.

Sure, but one of those individuals has far, far more power in the relationship. And that makes the question of consent a little iffy.

Last I checked, both people make that choice. Both are necessary, and neither is sufficient.

LPT: If you’re getting promoted from hourly to salary and receiving less than a 25% raise, you may be working more for less, not counting overtime.
40 hours to 50 hours is 25% more hours, if that’s how long you’re expected to work.

🤦🏻♀️ This isn’t a life tip. This is math taught to literal children and you still got it wrong. You never calculate based off of assumed two weeks off.

I've done this before, but it's never helped. It's like my barber can't see where he's working.

And normal fashion I am sure that is not enough for you to certify the term
But perspective is reality and is pretty awesome for me. I I believe it's not about how much you make it's about how much you have to spend and we have done really well keeping our expenditures low and fighting off any kind of income creep that we have.

Yeah this isn't a pro tip. This isn't even a tip. This is just common knowledge/sense.
Pretty sure this is known before you even have a first job.

Reply to comment by Littlemonster93 in LPT: tips for first time car buyer to avoid being taken advantage of? by Littlemonster93
Yes, exactly!
markedasred t1_jeb1s6e wrote
Two points. First, when you ring up, just say you were ringing about the car for sale. Do not specify what car. If they are a dealer pretending it is a private sale, they will usually have to ask you what car you mean. Cut the call, they are trying to shift a car that would fail a warranty.
Second, if you really have no clue, book one of the roadside rescue services to go with you when you are very interested in a particular car. They will know the common faults of all major makes like the backs of their hands. The problems they point out will provide a point of negotiation of the fee of them coming with you off the price.
