I started the idea of plowing the Riverwalk (Fox Hall to Memorial Auditorium) as a post on the FB group Lowell Live Feed. There's a couple of City Councilors who follow the dialogues there so we'll see if it gets any traction (pun unavoidable).

Worst case scenario: we could get together and shovel it.

Following as I almost busted my ass a few times yesterday running on the road after some snow.

A great paved trail I have been using to run is the Bruce Freeman Rail Trail. It is NOT plowed in the winter unfortunately but is great otherwise. Welcome to Lowell!

That sounds incredible. I’ll have to get that asap. George’s Pizza moved locations when I was in my early teens but then closed probably when I was 18 and I’ve been looking for that amazing “Hamburg and onion” Pizza ever since. Nashua House of Pizza gets something close but it’s still not George’s. So this special at LHOP might just be the best impression. THANK YOUUUUU!

Pretty much but it also has “hamburg” on there as my family used to call it. The sauce is an old recipe and the pizza is actually way smaller than you’d think for the price but crispy and tall but doesn’t feel thick. This Sun Article goes into the history a bit

Edited to add: I really want some now, but my family doesn’t even live in Lowell anymore. Guess I’ll have to see if anyone’s throwing a 20-year for LHS class of ‘03!

What's on the special? Is it basically a supreme pizza with roni/olives/onions/bell peppers/sausage? Or do they kick it up somehow? Based on the picture of the mushroom in their header and the extra $5 I'm guessing they must do it up nice.

If I wasn't so intrigued by your suggestion I would have recommended a drive down to Westford to get some Diggy's Detroit Style; plenty of exotic 'za combos there and they're not the cheapest game in town

Most pizza places in town are around $16 for a large cheese.

Tremonte on Palmer St has pizza on the menu. Depending on the night, they either come out perfect or a little well done/burnt, it’s good to watch other pizzas come out before you order to decide for yourself. I’m a fan of their Fromaggi pizza. The bar here is always great.

Crispy Square Pizza Co (formerly Phoenix Rising) is a food truck. They’re at Navigation Brewing on Western Ave most Friday nights. They do Detroit style pizza that I haven’t had it since the rebrand but I liked it when they were doing Neapolitan style pizzas.

For a more traditional carry out/pizza joint place: Tessi’s is just over the Tewksbury line on Andover St. They sell an XL variant of all their pizzas that’s $35+. I’ve never had an XL, but their regular pizzas are pretty good. Milan’s on Rogers St has a fluffier crust and a great chicken bacon ranch.
