The peninsula used to nearly be an island!? All that area where I see river is asphalt and concrete now.

There’s definitely some judgement needed there.
Today I was on 95 & 295 around noon and there were some folks definitely not exercising judgment

You’re forgetting how incompetent and corrupt Americans are. You sound like Donald Trump promoting coal. It’s not safe, it requires extremely rare and dangerous materials to produce. If society collapses the plants become an immediate problem. It has been a problem in Ukraine for about a year now. Compare that to wind and solar arrays which pose no risk to humanity and the environment. Good thing you have absolutely no decision making power on this.

Also “The Authority may designate different maximum speeds … during periods of adverse atmospheric or weather conditions. Maximum speeds … during any period of adverse atmospheric or weather conditions shall be in accordance with signs displayed for such zones. All regulatory and zoning signs displayed on the Turnpike shall be obeyed.”
and also
“Motor vehicles shall not be driven in excess of the mechanical limits of vehicles or tires. If traffic, weather, pavement or other conditions render the maximum allowable speed hazardous, the speed of motor vehicles shall be reduced consistent with such conditions.”

More like 4 from Machias. Probably all day at least in the 1700's.

If the roads are bad, yes. If its like last friday and the interstates are fine but the 45 sign is on but everyone is going 70, then what?
Btw, i genuinely dig your user name.

No shit. Even then they should still slow down in shitty road conditions.

If the roads are bad enough that someone is driving 45 in the left lane, and you’re going 70? I have news for you about who is wrong in that situation

CMP didn’t contribute because your developers opted for underground utilities (either by choice or because they were required to by the town). I live on a private road and all the poles were put in and are owned by Versant.
Glad I’m in versant territory: CMP charge you twice as much as Versant charges me… When I first got my solar panels my minimum charge was $8.xx and then like 3 or 4 months ago it dropped to under $7

More like not pressing the gas pedal to the point of losing control, just have to drive slower

I don’t know if I totally agree with you. I have solar panels also. I pay a minimum of $13.75/month. I live on a road where the developers put in the utility wires underground. CMP didn’t contribute anything. My extra power goes out then probably right into my neighbors houses. CMP is charging them for the power and the delivery even though they don’t own or maintain any of the wires. I don’t know. I still like my solar.

When going 20 under the posted, at least have the good sense to put on the 4-ways so that folks coming up on you know you are going slow.

Dont disagree with you completely, but when everyone is going 70 and one person is going 45 in the left lane coming out of portland, who is creating the hazard. The "no vehicles under 5hp and no animals led or driven" signs exist for a reason.

If he hit someone it would’ve been an accordion style accident spanning more than a few cars on both lanes. I’m thankful he only screwed himself over but fuck.

Why be pissed that a guy who attempted to pass with traffic coming straight at him ended up in the woods. You should be laughing at him (assuming he didnt kill himself).

Driving 70mph on a snow covered road is stupid in my opinion. I am not interested in causing the death of another person. I choose safety over getting there yesterday.

I wish it were that easy. A new set of studs is expensive, and having them changed over at a warehouse isn’t cheap either. Sometimes the best option for people is to drive slower, especially for people who don’t have AWD/4WD vehicles.

I could see a blueberry bacon jam being great, the salty and blueberry on a burger could work, toss on some red onions, boston lettuce, tomatoes, cheddar, bacon and a bulky.

People gotta do what they gotta do to be safe in snowy conditions. If that means driving 30 in a normally 50 posted area, so be it. If the roads aren’t safe, they aren’t safe.
