Thorium reactors eat the waste AND re-enrich it as a byproduct. France has been doing it for years.

What region are you in? Many local farms (the one I work for included) sell seedlings in spring for customers to plant. They may be a little more expensive than going to a hardware garden center, but they'll be healthier and more locally adapted, with the money you spend going directly to locals instead of a huge corporation. Check out farmer's markets near you, or search for farms in your area and see if any of them do pre-orders.

I remember this, so confusing at the time. They switched with WTHT which up to then was a soft rock/easy listening station. They (WTHT) changed formats and went pop. They also became known as Thunder 107 and had a real douche of a DJ.

a reference to a phone conversation made between a recording session of Captain Beefhart and their albums owner, Frank Zappa about their new song…. The Blimp.
WBLM always seemed to have a love of all things Zappa.

Reply to comment by transmorgrifier in The not-so-great shepherds pie debate by marrymejojo
My husband is English, and my mother-in-law (also English, obviously) gave me her recipe for shepherd's pie. So if you're interested in how an actual English person makes shepherd's pie, this recipe is to die for. (I'm actually making one today, in fact!)
1 lb / 500g ground lamb (You can use ground beef, but lamb is so much better)
2 carrots, grated
1 1/2 lb potatoes, peeled and boiled until tender
1 C water
1 beef bouillon cube
2 heaping teaspoons cornstarch
1 heaping teaspoon Marmite (Marmite can usually be found at Shaw's in their tiny little British foods section in the International foods aisle.)
1 C Sharp cheddar cheese (as much as needed to cover top of pie)
Directions
-
Brown the lamb in a frying pan, chopping with a spatula while frying to keep it fine, no clumping. Drain fat.
-
Add grated carrots, add water and crumble in bouillon cube.
-
Bring to a boil, then add marmite.
-
Thicken the meat and gravy with cornstarch - add it gradually to create a thick consistency. Taste the meat and gravy for flavor. You can add a dash of soy sauce or Worcestershire sauce if it's a bit too bland. (I find lamb doesn't need it, but will add Worcestershire if I'm using beef.)
-
Pour into a large casserole dish.
-
Mash cooked potatoes with one Tbsp. butter and spread on top of meat.
-
Cook in a preheated oven at 400F for 10-15 minutes until brown on top.
-
Grate cheddar cheese over the top, then return to the oven for another 10 minutes until golden on top.

It was a tweet not an article. I can editorialize a tweet however I want. I can also have opinions, be "emotional" and "come out the gate swinging" if I want.
You should work harder to not be a condescending, controlling douche bag.
So do that next time and every time. Have a nice day.
edit: btw, I usually include "fuck Susan Collins and everyone who voted for her" in any Susan Collins post by me or someone else. Maybe I should stick to that so people don't get confused. She could cure cancer but that won't change her vote for Kavanaugh, her phony "moderate" status or how I feel about her.

We have a massive homeless population.... we have crumbling infrastructure.... our own people go hungry.... and our own people don't have healthcare....
ALL problems that we could EASILY fix with the money we JUST SHOVELED at a random foreign country we have nothing to do with (well, officially at least).
This is why America will continue a downward spiral. Why our society more and more looks like North Korea ....as our own people starve yet we keep shoveling all our money into military.... because dumb fucking idiots keep cheering for it.
Who cares about all our domestic problems from lack of funding if it means sticking it in the eye of Russia? Am I right? Lolo0llzozlzozlzozlzozl
It's so fucking stupid. All it took was a couple people to get on TV and tell you you are being a super hero for ignoring the problems of our own country.... and here you are carrying water for the most corrupt people in this world lol. "Yeaaa! We should send ANOTHER 100 billion to the corrupt military industrial complex! YEAAAA!! WOOOOO"

Why carry water for Russia? They invaded their neighbor unprovoked in a war of conquest. The world has united against them and condemned their baseless aggression.
Without crying "what about" why are you carrying water for them?

Of course you will. A lot of Americans still cheer for what we did in Iraq too.
Stupid Population + Propaganda = Cheering crowds
It's a pretty basic formula empires have executed on for much of human history.

Yup, typical war state citizen response.
Our own people don't have healthcare and sleep on the street .... but fuck them, let's send all our money overseas to police the world!!!
Though, of course, the money actually goes to all our weapons manufacturers because of massive corruption.
No doubt in 10 or 20 years when you figure out what is really happening over there, it will be treated in the same way as when Americans found out the TRILLIONS spent after 9/11 was based on lies an absolutely no justified reason.....with a shrug and a yawn.

I wish we would double what we are sending to Ukraine. Particularly some Abrams.

Even if it's not the majority of homeless it is the problematic homeless. The ones who destroy everything, erode good will and make services ineffectual. We just don't have a good solution to people addicted to hard drugs.

> Already seeing major effects, and we thought we’d have a good 5-10 years of snow.
Yea, things are changing rapidly. I think a lot of people picture climate change as something that will become an issue that will significantly impact them at the end of a 30 or 50 year span, as if some switch will get turned on.
Instead of just the increasingly crappy conditions people have to suffer through. Like this last summer in Kansas before I moved out here was brutal. Most days I just couldn't go outside to work on anything because it was too hot.
And before that I was in California for many years, and every year was more and more forest fires and droughts.
The writing is on the wall, and nowhere do projections say we are on the path towards fixing anything. Instead year after year they just seem to be trying to get everyone used to increasingly extreme outcomes coming in the future... we are at the point where people pray the worse case scenario of 1.5c talked about 10 years ago is "all that happens".

>Hate being treated as a Praia by most locals,
I haven't run into that much yet. Though I didn't come to rural Maine because I was trying to socialize haha.
Generally people just say they like my hat and I say thanks and continue to go about my business.

Drivers always seem happy to stop on the tracks so it doesn’t surprise me that someone would just drive around the gates and ignore the lights and bells.
A lot of people really believe the train will stop for them, the main character of reality.
