The Irving family recently sold the most expensive piece of Maine real estate in all of 2022. Can’t recall the address at the moment but it sold for $8+ million. Was worked on by a team of architects/builders over the course of 15+ years.

Primus stove and a jetboil, plus I've got a portable indoor fireplace (look it up, they exist). Same grid as the hospital so I'm usually in good shape, but it helps to be prepared.

I am with you. I made the switch this last september and have no regret. Harmon p43 was 4k, which comes with a great warranty. Even paying winter prices for pellets, I will start seeing a return on investment early next winter. These are eligible for a substantial tax credit.
1500 sq foot home. Keep it on half power from 6am- 2 pm and then on the lowest setting until the following morning. About 1 to 1.25 bags used per day.
I would recommend having a building or a good place to store the pellets. With that being said, I do see people just pulling bags off a pallet in their yard.

So, it's racist to note that most immigrants are people of color? Lmfao, what's next, is it racist to point out that you're white? Give me a break.
And where did I say they were "Of a single race?" I said you're race baiting, i.e., blaming problems white people created on nonwhite people. Which is exactly what you meant with that comment.
According to PEW research center, 68% of documented immigrants are Asian or Hispanic. If you add undocumented immigrants, that balloons to about 90% Hispanic or Asian (With around 7% being Hispanic), and only around 5% white.
Again, where are you going with this? Does 900 migrants moving to Maine each year create a housing crisis? Or does the lack of affordable/government subsidized housing cost it?
Knowing you, you'll resort back to "Fox News brown people bad keep Maine White"

That’s not true. They need to follow regs just like everyone else.

CMP is owned by a regional company and as such they have direct ability to send trucks from their CT or wherever office if Maine is slammed with outages but not CT.
While we could absolutely create a regional response plan that shares resources with other utilities regardless of ownership, there is a real concern that response times to major outages would be less efficient if the combined ownership and sharing plan that exists currently is changed.

When ice is an issue for the roof, I toss up handfuls of rock salt just above the gutters. Trick I learned from Pepe. Has never failed me.

Most of Kennebunk lost power due to the main feed line coming into the primary substation was taken out. Kennebunk has their own power company, Kennebunk Light and Power. My neighborhood went down before the substation did, so we were out from 5 pm to 830 am today. Word is that CMP didn’t fix the line in a timely manner because they didn’t care about KLP, even though fixing that one line would restore power to basically an entire town. CMP sucks. KLP is one of the hidden perks of living in Kennebunk. This is the longest I can remember being without power.

You do realize that all immigrants are not of a single race right? Maybe in your head you are imagining some racist stereotype of an immigrant but that’s on you bub, not me.

im jealous of people out west that have greater access to atv and snowmobile trails because their access to them doesn’t hinge on the schedules and whims of logging companies.

I didn’t realize that cities were banning them entirely but after thinking about it it’s obviously a good practice
If people want to use gas stoves in an area where their vented fumes aren’t going to end up in somebody elses building that’s entirely different

I’m sure it is, but to say that its not happening at all is disingenuous. It is happening and it could happen in other cities.

honestly don’t love that vast swaths of the state are privately help like this. the land owners could do some really gnarly stuff if they wanted with little we could do to stop them
