I flip furniture. I find free, abandoned or cheap furniture and stain / paint and sell. It’s a lot of fun and makes me a little extra cash.

Do you have a family member who recently got their license? Our insurance doubled the year my son started driving. It turned out the insurance co. had put his name on the titles. (It still went up, but not as significantly.) I ended up switching to MMG which has been good to us.

We change between carriers every year. I hold no loyalty to any insurance company because it’s always best to shop around. We pay about $450 every 6 months for 2 Subarus with comprehensive coverage and a $250 deductible. Usually I found progressive or gieco to be cheapest and avoid State Farm because they are always 200-300$ more expensive every 6 months.

There’s such a lack of handymen/tradesmen, at least in my area, you can print up business cards and pin them up at business’s around town. This got so much work for my cousin and I we had to contemplate taking them down. Once you work a few jobs word of mouth snowballs and you don’t have to advertise, just do good work. We do work for locals too but charge a lot less. You can always say no to a job or just bid it super high and subcontract, but it’s definitely worth seeing what’s out there in your area

Sounds like a plate misread.

We got a bill from Florida once. Picture of a white pickup truck and they were saying it was the plate on our Subaru. Turns out it was a truck from Maine with commercial plates that were the same letters/numbers as our normal Maine plates (didn’t know that was possible, I think they avoid duplicating a plate even if it is a different class). We called and within a couple minutes it was corrected.

I made paper trees from vintage books, put them on dollar store candle holders, with a topper and sold them for $15. I did it to make $$ for an Apple watch.
