To me, I feel like I can't breathe, it becomes somewhat difficult to walk, and the world hates me. It's like you want to gasp for air and vomit at the same time.

>What is -44f suppose to be?

Hell.

>How does one survive it, what clothes can you wear?

You wear as many layers as you can and refuse to go outside as much as possible.

>Does the car even start

When it wants to.

New Yorker (city) here. What the hell does it feel like outside when it’s -44 degrees????? When it hits 10 degrees here, it feels like death. What is -44f suppose to be? How does one survive it, what clothes can you wear? Does the car even start?

Ps would love to visit when it’s actually warmer lol

I would recommend Lost Valley in Auburn as it's more a hill than mountain. I used to teach there and feel like they do a pretty good job.

My biggest advice starting out: the trick will always be to keep whichever edge is facing down the hill is angled up. If your back is facing down hill you'll be putting pressure on your toes, or if your front is facing down hill then pressure on your heels. Keep your knees slightly bent.

My kid had one of those fancy thermostats (Nest) that saves energy by shutting down the heat when it doesn't sense movement, figuring you have left the house. Real stupid idea. During a cold spat a few years ago they went out and came back to a frozen pipe in a wall, It cost them dearly.

We don't need to build anything in reality. There's so many vacant places that are already housing usable or could be converted. It's a matter of not making rent 1200+ a month or having a scrappy building cost 100k+. I barely make 30k a year... so paying workers more is another solution but that's too hard too it seems.

Have the electric heat (cringe) set to like 60/62 because I’m too poor. Grateful for our gas fireplace to cut through the chill as it’s much cheaper for us to run. I only have the electric heat on at all so our pipes don’t freeze. I feel like I’m cold most of the time though😩our apartment is extremely drafty.
