It was never a promlematic concept. Guess what? People of different ethnic backgrounds don't go to restaurants where their own food is made by white people, or any other group, if they can actually help it. That's just a fucking fact.

Go to any big city and if you want to know if the food is good- it means that people of the same ethnic background of the food being served will be eating there. And you know, it goes both ways. I didn't like eating "Pizza" when I was in Korea, either.

Also, for the record, if I was really close minded I would have walked out of those places as soon as I got a look at at them. But I'll give anyone a chance. The problem is, they very rarely get it right.

Get over yourself.

You moved from California to Maine with the expectation that it was the same because we both have coasts? You’re smart enough to figure out why you can’t get “authentic” food like back in cali. Mac Donald’s had that level of consistency, if that’s your expectation.

Maine is a very white state. That is not an inherently good or bad thing - it just is.

A quick Google search before moving cross country might have told you that, if it was going to be a problem for you, as it clearly is.

"Only Mexicans can make tacos" is racist, full stop. Enough. You're digging a hole.
